New Home Windows

Its a new HP home computer package that came installed with Windows Vista and has Window mail. We both have had our yahoo email addresses for years. Mine works with the windows mail and his does not. We have followed the pop and smtp server info but his still does not work and we keep getting error messages.

maybe he changed his password and didn't tell you or he doesn't remember changing it

I am trying to decide the pros and cons of these two types of windows . I am really looking for maybe the disadvantages / advantages of each on new home construction

I prefer vinyl, we just replaced out aluminum windows with the vinyl and are very satisfied, the aluminum windows are cold and tend to sweat in sudden temprature changes. We have the double hung which the upper and lower window tilt in to clean so all windows can be cleaned from inside the house.

I am new to Windows Vista (home premium) and just realize that this version of vista does not have ability to fax documents thru computer as XP did. Bought an upgrade to Vista ultimate and still does'nt work. Any sugguestion to what programe I can use to fax documents from my Computer directly.

Did you upgrade your internet access at the same time
If you are on DSL you cannot fax document etc because you are not connected to the phone only the DSL line the Phone is separate through the filter
You will have to search web for a way around this but I think you will need to use a 56kbps modem to do so how you wire it up
You will need to connect it to another line with filter in it and test

I have a laptop with vista home premium preinstalled, can i install my windows xp home(unused and original) over it?

Personally, I think you're asking for problems doing so. In other words, you'd have to convince me there is some compelling reason why this is absolutely necessary and that there is no other option for me to even think it's possible.

I mean, they're both just a means to get stuff done....

I'm getting new windows installed in my house and it seems like a good deal, but I've never gotten them before, so I'm not sure. It breaks down to about $500 per window. They are double hung, lifetime warranty, they have weatherstripping inside and are welded together, not screwed. The window itself also has argon (?) and has really nice security features. Is that price typical?

I paid between $125 - $200 per window - depending on the sizes, but I installed them myself.
