I want to replace under ground oil tank to above ground . Natural gas is not available in my area. Electricity may be more expensive. Before I put money in new tank, I would like to know about any new heating teachnology available for home use ,

I am considering changing the type of furnace I use from oil to gas, what are the benefits of gas over oil? any ideas?

I am considering building (contracting) a new home and budget is tight. I live in northern California and where I am, weather is considered mild and rarely do I need the cooling or extended heating. My new home will be about 1800 sf single story. Will forgoing the central a/c installation save me much? Thanks.

Not as much cost as those days where it does get up to 90 and have to go to bed sweating.

Ive been using 100%renewable electrical energy for years, my new home has gas central heating, i dont know where to start to find the least damaging supply? Genuine, sensible, knowledgable answers only please.

I was about to propose natural gas without baby seals being harmed...

No seriously, what is ethical is to use this limited (and low greenhouse gases emitting) resource efficiently.
Is your home well heat-insulated? If not there is a lot you can do

Am new to gas heating and have a two story house. When using the furnace, sometimes the house will have a noise that is like a clicking/ticking noise and this will sound then do it again in about 1-1.5 minutes. It is only heard in parts of the house, especially in one bedroom. Any possible anwsers would be appreciated. Thanks

If you have used an electrostatic air cleaner in your furnace/air conditioner, these "pops" or "snaps" or "clicks" are what is called "arcing."

It is a normal process where, in the electrostatic air cleaner, negative ions clash against allergens and positive ions inside allergens and air contaminants in your heating/air conditioning system. It is the process of the cleaner getting red of those ions (the positive ones, or the "bad ones") and replacing them with negative ions.

Occasional arcing is okay, but repeated arcing signals that the air cleaner in the heater must be cleaned (the filters) before you use them again.
