I am participating in the Fuller Center Bike Adventure this year and need a sponsor. I need to raise $4000.?

This is my third trip. Two years ago I cycles 1250 miles and last year I cycled 1750 to raise awareness and money to help eliminate poverty housing. This year, I will be cycling 1700 miles from Seattle to Colorado Springs will building houses along the way. We stay in churches so there is no overhead other than gas for the support van and snacks for lunch. Our monies go to help eliminate poverty housing both domestic and international. Our days consist of cycling 70 to 100 miles a day, then talking about our mission to the various churches that we stay in. Once a week, we help renovate or build a home along the way. Each year, we are touching more and more people and churches. It is amazing to see how much difference we can make when we work together. For this trip, I need to raise $4000, none of which will go toward overhead. All will go toward the construction of new and/or existing homes.

This IS NOT a forum to collect or silicate funds. It's a question & answer forum. You need to raise $4,000? Start a collection elsewhere.

When Can I Paint? What Kind of Primer Do We Use?

Interior plaster ceilings and walls: Drying time varies with climatic conditions and the type of plasterwork completed, but expect at least two weeks between completion of interior plaster and painting. All interior plasterwork should receive a alkaline resistant primer to help combat efflorescence (an alkaline condition where a white powdery substance forms on the surface).

How Do I Know If You're A Good Ceiling and Wall Contractor?
Call me last. Even if your still learning the trade VIA phone, most people are impressed by my knowlage and celerity in My Trade. I am a Master in Finishing and It a distintion in a very old and proud trade that has NO room for charlitans . Learn as, you are now: by researching online and talking to qualified finishers. If you call me last I can often give you a qualified "phone bid" and I you save me the "FREE ESTIMATE!" I won't hide it in your bid or the next person's (maybe you?) No kidding, I GET 85-90% OF MY BIDS. I keep my overhead down as the great Craigslist allows. I spent $3,000 a year in 80's and 90's.
I only recieved 30% of my bids. All that time and money advertising and bidding and keeping my crew busy; I passed along...

I am 53 with some leg circulation issues! I want the very difficult patch and match.

Can We Just Contract Direct With Your Employees?- Big NO NO... Normally but since I'm a hands on owner; go ahead..

NO. If they even tried I would fire them in a second. Workers have no business talking to the owner/agent for anything except to ask where the hose is, say good morning, or the usual...
Anything else is troble all the way around. I will drop you also for asking..!
It just not appropriate on several levals!

EGADS!! I would be worried. Look elsewhere. He isn't the only one who does this kind of work.

What do MEN finf Romantic ?? Your views please?

What do MEN finf Romantic ??

When it comes to romance, guys get a bad rap. But men can be just as romantic as women, though they often express it in different ways.

1. Compliments. The quickest path to a man's heart is through his ego. "The other day, my lady told me she thought I was sexy. That was so cool! I'd never heard that before and it blew me away!" says a schoolteacher from Chicago. A political consultant from Washington, D.C. agrees: "The most romantic thing in the world is for you to be in awe of your man's skills -- whether it's his ability to make people laugh, perform at sports, fix things, or retrieve and display esoteric knowledge. Let him wow you," he says.

2. Dark chocolate. "Milk chocolate is for kids. Dark chocolate is for lovers," says Weinstein, who explains that dark chocolate has a higher percentage of cocoa, which means it has more phenylethylamine, a chemical that mimics the feeling you have when you're in love.

3. Hard-to-find gifts. Is his college sweatshirt so faded you can't decipher the name of his alma mater? Is he mourning the loss of a rare comic book that his mother threw away when he left home? Does he collect antique hood ornaments? Webb says that a gift that requires some effort is sure to be a big hit with your guy. "Men and women tend to express love differently. Women are usually the more nurturing types and tend to think of romance in terms of 'soft touches' while men express love in more practical ways," says Webb.

4. You, in his clothes. "Come to the dinner table wearing nothing but his button-down dress shirt. Now that's romance!" says an artist from Boston.

5. Funny movies. "A lot of people say that shared values or goals are what make a relationship work," says Weinstein. "But to me it's a shared sense of humor. If you like the Marx Brothers and your date doesn't, then it's simply not going to work," he says. "When you can find someone to laugh with, then you know you're really connecting."

6. A great memory. A picture really does paint a thousand words -- especially if it's of the two of you tanned and glowing at a beachside resort. "I went to my girlfriend's office and saw that she had a picture of us on vacation in Cancun," says a Seattle construction worker. "Little things like that just make you feel great."

7. An old-fashioned night on the town. A publisher in New York says that he isn't a huge romantic, but he admits that the rotating dance floor at the Rainbow Room makes him pretty gooey. "You're surrounded by well-dressed couples of all ages who know how to dance. This gives the effect of being in a romantic movie about old New York. Plus, it's a little disorienting with all that spinning around, which puts you in a dreamlike state," he says.

8. Tall buildings. Because in general guys just like big stuff. But also because taking in such a huge view can put life into perspective. "The tremendous view of the city with all its lights is not only awesome in its own right, but accentuates the essential smallness of the individual person," says a Chicago attorney. "Thus humbled, it is most comforting to realize, at that instant, you're not alone in the world."

9. Surprise intimacy. Whether it's an unexpected kiss or an afternoon jaunt to the bedroom, men swoon when women say "Come hither." "We like surprises -- like when you initiate sex at odd times, or rent a room in the middle of the day. We also like beaches, bed-and-breakfasts, and when you squeeze our thigh at a snooty dinner party. Oh, and baths. We like bubble baths," says a writer from New York.

10. P.S. I love you. They may not always admit it, but many men report that they love getting affectionate little notes. "I particularly like finding a note in my suitcase when unpacking on a business trip," says an executive from Dallas. Weinstein agrees. He loves getting a surprise note or email with an affectionate message, and says that a "p.s." increases the charm. "There's something about the p.s. that people respond to. It reminds us of when we were at camp and our mom wrote. P.S. I love you, or the note our high-school sweetheart stuffed into our locker."

Erm, could you repeat the question please...? lol

  • Northwest Modern Homes: Seattle Modern Home interior detail

Many homebuyers today appreciate the modern asthetic and are interested in purchasing and living in a home that has a modern and streamline feel. This does not necessarily mean a new home, as the Bauhaus and Modern Home design began in the 1920’s, so when we speak of “Modern Homes”, they may not necessarily be new but have the clean lines and open spaces that epitomize this kind of design aesthetic. We can be discussing homes built from the 1930's to today.

This is a ceiling detail from a home on Queen Anne that I represented, built by PB Elemental. Home sold in the $1M range and had great views of Lake Union. Modern homes sell well in Seattle and is a particularly desirable style of real estate. It's possible to purchase modern townhome in the $400K price range in certain neighborhoods.
