I already know about the company's home page. It does me no good.
This store shows that they have them, but you'll have to call to purchase.

When purchasing my New Balance athletic shoes, I went from my usual 8-1/2 to 9-1/2 because I kept feeling my toe at the end. The shoes felt fine at the store. The next day I wore them while working and within an hour, the big toe on both feet began to go numb. I loosened the laces but it didn't help. I don't feel I can return them after wearing them all day. Would inserts help? What caused this? My feet were sore for hours after I got home. Never had this problem with my Wal-Mart tennies.
Take the shoes back and get fitted.
New Balance appears to have changed
their sizing methods. I have two pair of
608s and they are different sizes. The label
for the 3 year old 10.5 US size are:
28.5 cm, 10 UK, 44.5 EUR
11 US size are:
28 cm, 9 UK, 43 EUR.
The 11s are smaller than the 10.5s .
The 10 1/2s are also older.
New Balance seems to be the only
athletic shoe company to have changed
their sizes in the US, and kept their
UK, European and metric measurements
the same.
I do like New Balance shoes, but this thing they
did irritated me. On the other hand, all the
11s were half price, probably because they
did not fit people that were accustomed to
buying 11s. My 604s are also 11s, but I did
not have an older pair to compare. They were
on sale, so my refund from the new NB 10.5s I was
returning bought two pairs.
I was fitted with a nice pair of New Balance running shoes. They feel great and I love wearing them. I am not a runner but I walk 3 miles per day and also get on eliptical trainer. Someone told me that I should only wear my shoes when I'm exercising and not to wear them as just casual shoes. I work at home so I would like to wear them in my home office, to the store, to my kids sporting events, etc. They are much more comfortable than any other shoes. Thoughts on this?
There are a couple of reasons why you shouldn't wear your running shoes for activities other than running. First off, running shoes are only good for 300 - 500 miles. After that, the midsoles wear out (even though the rest of the shoe may look fine) and is no longer capable of safely supporting & cushioning your foot. This is why runners (should) track the number of miles they put on each pair of shoes. If you're a few miles off due to walking back & forth to your car / the gym / the track / etc., it's not a big deal, but wearing them routinely to work or running errands or just around the house causes you to put a lot more miles on them over time. Essentially, you're "using up" your fancy, pricey, specially-made running shoes on activities that don't really warrant them. (If you really like the way they feel on your feet, though, consider getting a second pair so that you have one you're willing to sacrifice for every day casual wear & one pair that's devoted to just running that you track mileage on.)
Secondly, running shoes are built to efficiently absorb & distribute the force that's generated from the very specific motion created by running, which is very much a front-to-back motion. When most of us go about our every day activities, we usually end up putting a fair bit of lateral (side-to-side) force on our shoes as well. The effects are even worse if you wear your running shoes for high-impact activities that require a lot of lateral motion like basketball, tennis, or soccer. Over time, this causes the midsoles to break down and soon your shoes will no longer be any good for running. Again, it's not that it's bad for your feet in any way; it's just a waste of specially designed & usually pricey footwear.
So I'd recommend either getting another pair of the same if you really like them that you wear casually, or looking for another shoe that is comfortable for every day that will cost you less. Those are the reasons, though.

I've been doing this workout program at home. It involves a variety of different workouts, so it's not as though you're doing the same thing all the time. Anyway, I wear running shoes, but something tells me I should wear more of a cross-training shoe. Do you think that's a good idea?
And if so, what kind of cross-training shoe should I get? Who makes a good cross-training shoe: Nike, New Balance, Adidas, etc.?
Thanks!
I have women's cross training shoes my Reebok I got them at Famous Footwear and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them, however as I was advised by our fitness friend they are more like a ballet shoe and don't provide the support needed for exercises that involve balance.
You want a sturdy shoe that you can easily do a lunge in without tilting from side to side not too soft.
If you're going to be on your feet for a long time I would get the shoe I described... I rather wear those than anything else I have.

I have tried Dr. Scholes and not been impressed. I really need some good shoes as I'm on my feet all day and the floors are concrete. We have mats to stand on but they really dont help much, besides, we are all over the store helping customers and not allowed to just stand at the register. Anybody with a good suggestion? If you know anything about New Balance, please let me know. I've also heard the Nike Airs are good.
Thank you
My stepdaughter works in the medical field and is on her feet all day long. She swears by Sketchers sneakers...her feet aren't achy at the end of the day and her back doesn't hurt (she had back surgery about 10 years ago).

New Balance/Green Hornet | Millennium Shoes
Extremely limited ‘Green Hornet’ inspired New Balance MT580′s and when I say extremely limited, i mean that only 12 of these shoes were produced. The actor who plays Kato in the movie co-owns the company that produced the shoe, so it was only obvious that he was going to collaborate in this special project. If you cannot get your hands on these, you can always visit on of our Millennium Shoe stores where we carry a variety of New Balance shoes.
