Canceled contract on new home due to issues with builders recommeded lender. I have a signed letter releasing me from contract stating I will be returned my deposit in full. Now sales manager says I might lose deposit. How can that be true if she signed release form stating money will be returned?
If you have it in writing signed then you will get your deposit back. They may say that to try to not to give your money back but if you have a signed form then you get it back.

In the next six months, I will be relocating from MD (where I own a home worth approx $350,000) to HA (where homes are much more expensive. Given today's economy, should I rent the old place and rent a new place in Hawaii? Sell and buy? Some other combination? I make a good income, but would need the equity in my current home for a down payment on a new one. Help!
This would be your best option at this time. Rent out your current home in MD. And hire a reputable property manager/Century21 etc. Put a security down of repairs of $1000. to them this will keep the small phone calls from coming in. Then rent in Hawaii until things look better to you regarding the purchase and this will give you plenty of time to look around the area.

I realized that I made a mistake in getting a pet rat with a 4 year old child in the house. He is a fantastic rat, but the 4 year old plays too rough with him and his claws (which have been trimmed by the vet) keep giving my son serious cuts, not just the occasional scratch I get when he climbs up my bare arm. He needs to go to a good home!

A New Home for Lucy — Golden Retriever Rescue of Southern Maryland
Congratulations to Lucy, and to her new furever parents, Isaac and Kathleen, for finding each other. When I spoke to Isaac this evening (Lucy’s first night in her new home), she was lying on him on the sofa. He said she is a perfect couch potato. Later, she would be invited up to the bedroom to sleep. What a change for Lucy! In her previous home she lived in the basement, with access to the yard, but very little access to her people.
And what a change for Isaac and Kathleen. It has been 10 years since they had that comforting sound of paws pattering down the hallway. Their last dog was very sick from Lyme disease and died young. They had been on GRREAT’s waiting list to adopt for 2 years, and then shortly after submitting their application to us, they went home a very happy family.
A big thanks to Peggy and Paul for their first time fostering … they did a great job.
