I know it varies from state to state, but I live in Western New York, and I have a German Shepherd, and I'm afraid my home won't pass inspection for my home daycare because of him. Any advice? I can't get rid of my dog, I love him! He's great with children, I have 2 little ones, and he's very gentle with them, and anyone else's kids I've babysat over the years. So I know he's no threat to them, but the inspector won't. Also, what all is on the inspection? I'm trying to make sure my house is perfect before they come.
"l) Any pet or animal kept indoors or outdoors at the family day care home must be in good health, show no evidence of carrying disease, and pose no threat to children. This provision also applies to those pets or animals present at the home which do not belong to the caregivers."
The big things they look for are sleeping places, fire safety, peeling paint, chemicals out of reach of children. adequate play space and things like that.
The dog will be fine if you can control him and he doesn't show aggression to the inspector. If you need to, you can get a temperament letter from his vet. But it probably won't come up.

I am in the process of opening up a Day Care in my home. I just submitted all paper work to the Bureau of Day Care Registration Offices. We passed the inspection and everything, I'm just waiting for the paper work to be provessed. My question is, how much longer do I have to wait for my documents and paper work to be processed so I can recieve my license?
Why don't you seek information from other day cares who operate from their home. Don't get into specific about what you're doing because they may fear that you're competiting against them. Good luck!

today. Put my old plates back on it. Didn't have time to take off the NYS registration and inspection stickers because I had to get to work ASAP. Is this illegal? (To have Connecticut plates with a NYS registration and inspection sticker that is no longer valid).
Tonight, I will work on scraping those stupid superglued stickers off, but for now, I need to get home and don't have time to try it now either.
As long as all of your Connecticut paperwork is in order they shouldn't mind the NY stickers. If asked just explain what happened. The dates on your paperwork will back you up. I ran into a similar situation once. No ticket. I just had to explain things to the cop and show him that I was legal, etc. (Oh and by the way, you are right about cats. :-)

Premium Poster Title: West Point, New York - Inspection in Camp, Soldiers in Formation
The seller promised to sell the house and allowed the buyer-hired New York State Certified Home Inspector did a thorough inspection on the entire house. Afterward, but before any legal documents prepared by lawyers and signed, the seller backed out from the deal. The buyer paid $200 for the inspection fee. Can the buyer recover the fee? and is the seller liable for anything?
You would most likely have to take them to small claims court to recover the inspection fee. Or simply ask them for it. Not sure about laws in NY, but you might consult with attorney regarding forcing them to perform.
To start - I do plan on calling the DMV when I get the opportunity. My FIL is waiting on a phone call, so it's not exactly an option right now.
Anyway...
My dad has moved up here to NY state from Ohio. His birthday is in about 3 weeks, so he's been getting his truck ready for inspection and setting aside money to get it registered up here. There's only one problem with it - he may not be able to do it himself before that time.
He found a job up here through a temp service about 2 months ago, and is looking to be hired in soon - which means he's trying to not take any time off so that it doesn't hinder that. Most days he doesn't get home until after 6-7pm.
Will the DMV let me register the truck for him, if I have his permission to do so? I don't want to see him not have a vehicle to and from work when his Ohio registration runs out, so if we can do that, it would help a lot..
If anyone knows, I'd appreciate your input! Thanks!
Technically, NO. I've seen that at times It is done. You might want to try a Plate service. These Agencies are allowed to act in your stead. For a fee. Some of them Even have the capacity to give you Plates, etc right in there offices. These are Called PSP's, perfectly legal in NY State. Where are you located in NY?If It is NY City and/or Long Island you'd be in luck. I don't know about any other place in this state for that, sorry. Back to the beginning; The DMV Reps are not allowed to take any other person in place of your father. you will need a very good photo copy of his drivers license which counts for 4 points (I'm assuming he has Ohio license) Plus 2 more points. If you go to (www.nydmv.state.ny.us) It will give you all the Info you'll need. Sorry I no longer have a profile on this site (When I dropped Verizon dsl for Road Runner they dropped me so you can't email me ) Some times they will over look the obvious and let you slide. But I wouldn't rely on It
