Have you checked www.realtor.com to look and see what similar homes are priced at in the neighborhood? You can also ask your Realtor what comps are for sales in the area. Don't use the builder's Realtor since you are not paying for the service, (the builder is) and the commission is based on price paid so it is not in his interest to tell you to lowball. Your own real estate agent can tell you what a rock bottom price would be, and go from there.

If you have bad credit, your in for some real problems when you need to get a loan. I would keep trying local banks, otherwise you'll be easily pulled into a scam.

What is the best Home Insurance company? How much should I expect to pay each month for Home Insurance for a $300,000 brand new home? Are there things that I should include in my Home Insurance policy that is not mentioned to me? The home is in Fresno California.

If you really are a Sgt or prior enlisted...USAA BAR NONE!!! They started as an insurance company for officer's during WWI when no one would insure the lives or life insurance of Military officers. They have expanded to insure enlisted men and their families too. Don't even bother talking to anyone else.

Also, get the options if you can for plumbing backup...it ALWAYS happens. Get the largest deductable $1,000 to help reduce the rates and get total replacement coverage. Think Fire and ...consider getting something for earthquake damage. The two things Californian's are likely to experience more than the rest of us.

I am an army brat who joined 28 years ago. I get calls from Geico, State Farm, allstate...they ask me who insures me and then THEY hang up. hahahahaha Check them out!
