How to find new home for an old cat?

My daughter has cat allergies and my fiancé has a 13 year old cat. We can't move in together unless we find a home for the cat, but no one seem to want the pet that old. We do not feel comfortable sending the cat to shelter or making the child take medicine, she is taking enough medications as is for her other health issues. What can we do? We already asked our friends that have cats if they'd like to adopt another one, but they refuse because he is old.

poor kitty, there is pleanty you can do at home to let your kid and your cat live with you.

don't allow the cat in the kids bedroom and one other room.

get some air purifiers make sure to have one in the kids room, and some other ones scattered around the house

vaccuum a few times a week

have your fiance brush the cat at least once a week and throw out the hair right away

once or twice a day get some cat wipes and wipe down the cat this will get the saliva off of the cat is what most likely what your kid is allergic to.

please don't get rid of this cat

How find new home equity line of credit?

I have a home equity line of credit at 9%; I see them advertised at 7.5%. Any ideas on how I might find a better rate without closing costs besides just calling around?

Try Citimortgage, I wouldn't do the line of credit, I would do the home equity LOAN, because the line of credit adjusts with prime. Do the loan and it will be fixed. It also depends on your home's worth and how much you need and your credit score. There are a lot of factors. Call a mortgage BROKER because they can shop around for you and get you the best rate. Also the closing costs are typically covered with Citimortgage.

Good place to find a new home for my dog?

I moved back home with my mom and the rest of my family and I have been having a hard time adjusting my pet terrier. He's been in an apartment before, but he has less free reign since my mom is a little stricter and tehre is a baby in the house. I've been thinking that I might have to find a new home for him. But I would prefer to find a home with good owners that have a yard that he can run loose in. If it comes to this, I want to be prepared. Does anyone know of a good way I can find a new home for my dog if I have to? Thanks.

Craigslist in the pets section is a great way to find someone. Do a home visit. Ask for a veterinarian reference. Ask for a rehoming fee, if they can't afford $100 for your trouble how can they afford to take your pet to the vet? Have your pet neutered. Many puppy mills look for situations like this. Your pet is ready to breed and will be bred to death. If it's been less than 6 months since you moved home you may just be expecting too much. Dogs adjust slower because they don't know all the details of the situation. YOU have to train him. I house trained a 9 y.o dog and to this day she still remembers. It takes time but it can be done. As long as the dog is not a danger to the baby I think the adults could put up with the dog.

How can I find a new home for my loving Boxer male?

We live in PA, have a 1 1/2 year old great tempered pure bred Boxer, AKC registered, neutered, up to date with shots. Great with kids and very friendly. We need find him a new home. He is free to a good family that can give him the time our family can no longer. We love him but have his best interets at heart. He has to spend to much alone time and that is not fair to him. Help if you can be the new loving family this dog needs.

Surrender him to a boxer rescue. They will try to find him the best home possible. They will take applications, do home visits, call references, get the dog vetted, etc. All in all they will everything they can to ensure that your dog will get the best home possible. Good luck to you. Be wary of every potential adoptor if your giving him away free. Please surrender him to a rescue so they can do the necessary checks.

If you love your dog, give him to a rescue. They are experienced in rehoming dogs.

Any suggestions on getting ground hogs to find a new home besides under my deck?

My husband wants to terminate them, but I would like to find a friendlier way to ask them to find a new home. I don't want to harm them. My husband is afraid they will bring ticks and fleas around our house and then to our dog.
We are using Critter Ridder to keep them from eating our plants, flowers and vegetables, but I caught a little one on our deck two days ago. Any suggestions on other products to use to make them uncomfortable?

Husband's right. A .22 is usually the best solution.

  • Orphaned pets find new home on campus | Bryan/College Station ...

For Marvin and Anita Cannon, a Bryan couple without children, family consists of cats Cali, Cole, Cooper and Lola, who sleep in the pair's bed and wake them with kisses.

So, they have decided to spend thousands of dollars to secure their pets' future after they are no longer able to care for them. Turns out, the most revered and one of the few places in the country to offer a perpetual pet care program is just a few miles away, and it's run by Texas A&M's top-ranked vet school.

"We checked out the place. I wouldn't mind living there myself," said Marvin Cannon, 70, a professor in Texas A&M's vet school who also serves on the advisory board of the Stevenson Companion Animal Life-Care Center.

At this center on the west end of campus, 21 cats, 16 dogs and one llama live out their lives in comfort, thanks to the foresight -- and cash -- of their owners, who have died or are no longer able to provide care.

And some 350 pets from 20 states are signed up for a future in the program, leading to a $650,000 expansion of the center that will add 2,600 square feet for a total of more than 11,000, said Dr. Henry "Sonny" Presnal, center director.
