Are you kidding??? Of course you can, that it why it is called a buyers market. Now, if you want to be picky and stick to only one house - then no, you are probably going to pay retail. If you loosen up a little, and have fun with it - then the sky is the limit. Make a bunch of low ball offers. Some will be rejected, and here is the key - you are going to get some that will be accepted! It may not be the exact home you wanted, and if you buy it at a discount you will have equity to play with to improve it and make it into your dream home.

Here is the thing about new home builders - all across the country there is a record surplus of new unsold homes. Right down the street from where I lived, there were two brand new homes that hadn't sold in over a year. Yes, construction companies need liquidity to pay their bills too. So, yes they will accept low ball offers too.

Additional details: Denver, CO has one of the countries biggest foreclosure markets. You may want to think about that - its your turn to give the banks a good squeezing, make them low ball offers!

What are the best communities to purchase a home in Denver, Colorado area? I will be moving there next summer and my work location will be around the South of Denver area. I'm looking for an area with good schools, low crime, and nice track homes in the low to mid 300K range. Mostly interested in new homes (new tracks)! Thanks
I believe the company that I work for is moving to either Littleton or Greenwood Village. I am moving from Southern California and traffic is bad here, so any commute under 30 minutes is fantastic.

Depends where exactly you are moving to. South West Denver is Littleton (Jefferson County) and South East Denver is Aurora. I no longer live in Colorado but I always preferred Jefferson County, however, you may be closer to Castle Rock. Denver area is huge and the traffic is awful. It really depends where you are moving from.

My husband and I are presently living in Westlake, Ohio. Westlake, Ohio is really a beautiful and safe city and we absolutely love this place and we are looking to move to a place that is similar to Westlake.

Since my husband got a new job in Denver, CO we will be relocating to Denver in the next couple of months.

We would like to buy a new home in Denver. Could someone please suggest a good and safe area for families to live? Which are upscale areas/cities in Denver? Areas with good schools?

My husband's workplace is in Englewood, CO and we are looking to buy a property within 5 to 20 mins drive to his workplace.

Presently the areas we have shortlisted to look for a home are Aurora, Englewood, Centennial, Greenwood Village, Lone tree, Cherry hills village, Highlands Ranch, Littleton and Parker.

Your answers are greatly appreciated.

when i was out there for a few weeks for a work conference, i heard that highlands ranch was the place to be. it's a bit more affluent and the schools there are supposedly better. sorry i can't add more.
