I am about to finish my last semester of college and really want to make a huge life change once I'm done. I am an art major (with a dual concentration in business) so I want to move to a city where there will be a lot of opportunities. I'm having a hard time deciding what city might be best for me so I was hoping to get some advice from others who have been in a similar situation...
I visited Seattle once and absolutely fell in love with it, however it is pretty far from home so I'm a little afraid of not having anything to fall back on if things don't work out.
New York- obviously a lot of opportunities but is it worth the high cost?
Boston- Close to home, good size, but not quite as many opportunities as the other two
Another thing to keep in mind is that I absolutely refuse to drive so I need to live somewhere with a good public transportation system.
I appreciate any help!
All three are excellent choices
I would start by putting out resumes in a three cities ,and move to whichever gives you the best job
New York State Small Business Development Center The New York State Small Business Development center provides high quality ... and training to ...
And also what do you think is good for me?
My Pros and Cons:
CONS:
New York
-cold weather
-traffic
-some of the rudest people ive met/seen in my life live there
-might not have good enough education system [personally idk, but i heard it was not great]
Florida
-hurricanes
-criminal rate
PROS:
New York
-GREAT job opportunities for the fashion business
-wonderful food
-never goes to sleep/gets boring
Florida
-LOTS of warm/hot weather that i love <3333
-heard it has good education
-really nice homes
-i <333 the beaches
-great shopping
I really want to work in the fashion/modeling business, but i see that most opportunities are in New York. I dont really like the north because of the weather...im more of a southern girl.
Florida is great and all, i love everything about it except for hurricanes....but i decided that if i was going to live in Florida that i would live in nothern Florida, or somewhere in the middle, close to Orlando, where it doesnt get much affected by hurricanes.
I really, really, really like the life people live in New York, from day to night. But no beautiful beaches like there are in Florida, and i HAVE to go to beach every year....i just love the water.
Now the reason im asking this because i need help on where i should go after college. These are my two state choices. As for the cities, of course it has to be NYC or Manhattan, and as for Florida it would be Orlando, somewhere in that area.
So what do you all think???
I've lived in FL my whole life and the first reason that northerners give for not wanting to live here is hurricanes. The reality is that we typically go several years in a row without any real hurricanes and *bad* hurricane seasons only occur once every 10 - 20 years. We know several days and sometimes weeks in advance when the hurricanes are coming and businesses in the state are organized in a way that allows them to distribute ample food and protection related supplies in time to hunker down before the storm.
As a Floridian I'm much more scared of northern cold weather related storms (blizzards and being snowed in). We know in advance when hurricanes are coming and the storms usually only last a few hours before they move on.
So don't let the hurricanes sway your decision. The only downside about your logic is Orlando is no where near the beach, its at least a 2 hour drive. But there's also the cities of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Jacksonville you can consider and they are all directly on the water.
Dear Sir/Madam,
Can you work as a mail dispatcher? I own a small shipping business
and I tend to operate a high cost of operation and I want to cut down my
expenses by employing someone in each state of USA apart from NY where I am,
someone who will be getting mails in bulk and open the bulk mail and dispatch
them in units to there final destinations in there respective states, for
example, the cost of sending each mail is $36.00 by UPS and we want to send
out 100 mails, that would be $3,600 which is too costly but we have a solution
whereby, we ship the whole 100 mails in one package at the rate of $600 to you
in your state and when you get it, you will open it and send the mail
individually through USPS which will be $7 to $10 each and you can see that we
will have a saving, $600 for bulk shipping plus $10 times 100 making $1,600,
you can see we have saved $2,000, so please I need you to work for me on a
part-time basis, and you will be paid $2,500 every month. You will be provided
with funds to pay freight forwarder, you will be provided with funds to pay
for USPS to dispatch the mails upfront, you will be provided with up to $1,500
to $7,500 as a running fund for dispatching the mails, sometimes, it may be
packages of goods that you will be receiving and sometimes you may be required
to pay for shipping and freight fees out of the funds we provide to you to pay
another freight forwarder when we need the service of another freight
forwarder, the items you will be re-mailing or shipping will include letters,
office materials and office equipments, home theater, electronics and some
other general consumer goods, I want to assure you that you will never use
your own money for any expenses and you are not require to buy anything to
begin the job,the job will only take 4 to 5 hours of your time in a week and
you can work whatever hours you want, the name of my Business is Fast Shipping
Enterprises . and I am located in new york city, NY, the job is very simple
once you have an address where you can accept mails and packages, and also
have the time to re-mail the mails and packages through USPS sometime through
some other freight forwarders, the mails and packages will contain gift cards,
letters, office materials and office equipments, home theater, electronics and
some other general consumer goods, you don't need any much space, they are
packages you can put in your room, or in your garage. You will have to present
an ID either driver's license or any other personal ID, all I wanted to ensure
is that you have an ID to show to the delivery man when packages will be
delivered to you and you have to show some sense of sincerity as you will be
entrusted with clients mails, packages and funds to utilize for re-mailing
expenses, please do let me know when you are ready to start and let me know if
you have all the requirements needed for the job, you need to provide your

It is a scam spam. There are so many things wrong with it.
The horrible grammar.
The obvious criminal intent of an business that is not legitimate, and stupid enough to put it in type for all the world to see!
No legitimate business would deal with freight this way.
No legitimate business would deal with a third party for customer packages, and payments like that.
No legitimate business would allow you to dictate the way you receive your salary.
Hmmm, shall I go on???

I would run as an independent with my own party.Tell me if you are republican, democrat, or independent? These are just some of my ideas…I am 16 years old but I want to pursue a career in politics.
I want to create opportunities for small businesses with a new program that I would call “The Small Business Bond Program” where I would allow average citizens to lend money to the government which would then be lent to small businesses and entrepreneurs. In return citizens will receive their money back with interest. This is a two way investment. It betters the state’s economy and allows the lender to make a secure investment.
I would set a flat property tax of 4% on all homes with a value of $2 million or less and a tax of 6% on houses whose value equals more than $2 million. For international companies (including companies that had previously left the US) that come to my state I would set their property tax to 0.3% of their total annual earnings. When it comes to sales tax I would create a sales tax holiday lasting the whole month of December where no sales tax is paid.
This applies to taxes and education so I am placing it in between. I would create a program where students who graduate college/apprenticeship for example between (2009-2013) can receive a $1500 bonus after they graduate.
On education I would focus on laws to strengthen school attendance. I would also make sure that all public school teachers go through state tests every four years to test their knowledge in their respective field. I also want an increase of $2000 for all teachers, firefighters, police, etc. I would make a program to work with a private internet service provider to make sure that all schools in New York have access to the internet. I would make sure that every student has access to textbooks. I am also a believer in vouchers for students wishing to attend alternative schools. There also needs to be legislation over cell phones in school. In my studies I have noticed that it plays a huge part in distracting students from school work. Parents must also take the initiative and make sure their children can receive the help they need (this means shutting of the video games). I also want local workshops paid by the government where students can go to and get tutoring free of charge by college students in certain fields(mathematics, literature). This could count as work study for college students while at the same time prepping elementary and high school kids.
When it comes to social issues I believe in civil unions for consenting adults but hold the belief that marriage is a religious ceremony. On abortion I think that the number of abortions should be lowered as I disagree with it. I would do that by creating programs to aid mothers morally and financially during their birth and 1 year later, during which they must find a job or prove that they are attending school of some type. I also support legislation where hospitals and clinics must educate the mother about the abortion process and its side-effects before practicing it through visual demonstrations, etc.
No, sorry, I wouldn't vote for you. You didn't touch on matters that are important to me, and you are making too many promises that you likely wouldn't be able to keep. Also, when you said "decrease the numbers of abortions," you didn't outline a plan.
You sound like you would have a very difficult time keeping church and state separate - I wouldn't vote for anyone who would impose their religious beliefs on others, or let those beliefs influence their decision-making process.
I wanted to hear: "Respect for the Consitution as the ultimate authority and deciding factor when considering legislation."
"Legalize drugs (at least cannabis) and cripple the black market and drug dealers in so doing."
"Repeal asset forfeiture laws, and demilitarize the police."
"Privatization, decrease the size and scope of government."
"Free market."
I vote Libertarian, most of the time.
Don't worry, I think you would appeal to many Republicans or other right-wing types. I take issue with your lack of plans - I want to see exactly HOW you plan on doing these things. Then again, I'm in that two percent who actually follow politics very closely, and demand action, not words. Most people will vote for you if they like what you say. They won't care whether or not you'll actually follow through. Therefore, you'd have a decent shot of geting elected. You sound pretty intelligent for your age. Plenty of time to narrow your focus and strengthen your platform.
Ok. I own a little WWE stock and was just checking my account, and this release just came out. I'm curious of a few things and wonder if anybody here can shed some light:
-I don't notice a statement of who he's replacing. Generally a release like this says that someone's stepped down or whatever and so-and-so is being promoted. Do you find this unusual?
-If this guy's going to oversee *International*, why are they moving him back to Stamford, CT? lol
-I don't know much about what goes on outside of the US w/WWE except that the wrestlers do travel there somewhat routinely and do put shows on. Do you think having a new head of this division will get more European talent into the ranks? What changes do you foresee, if any, or is this just a boardroom thing?

My guess is that there won't be that huge of a change, really. Don't look into company dealings as backstage dealings.
Banking Career and Job Opportunities
There are lucrative opportunities in the banking profession, often thought off as where the money is . Many jobs can be found in the frontline or head office, and within these areas, there are varied career options.
In general, banks divide products and services into separate business units. Each business unit represents a different type of business and the different people needed to work within it.
. This is the investing arm of a bank and usually consists of insurance, asset accumulation, and all types of investing including share trading and managed funds.
A bank is a business, and needs staff for areas such as finance, marketing, IT, sales and human resources. To look at banking job opportunities is to do so in terms of what people do and where they work : head office, frontline, and overseas opportunities.
Bank Head OfficeAll the decisions of the bank are made at the ‘head office’ (HO). This is the place where senior management and support units such as marketing, finance, IT and human resources are found. Building societies, credit unions and mortgage lenders also have these jobs even if they are much smaller than banks.
