Shine Home Furniture

I just sanded my old hutch and it's ready for stain. The guy at Home Depot told me that the stain in Minwax already has a sealer in the stain, so I assumed that it would shine. But, the after I applied the stain to a test spot, there was no shine.

After I fininsh applying stain, do I need a different sealer such as varnish or laqaur? Which one should I use?

I WOULD LIKE USE A VARNISH ON IT AND IT WILL BRING IT OUT BETTER LOOKING. TRY A SMALL PIECE OF WOOD STAIN ON BOTH OF THEM THAN AFTER IT DRYS ON IN EACH DIFFERENT CAN OF VARNISH AND THAN THE NEXT ONE THE LAQAUR AND LET THEM DRY THAN MAKE YOU CALL WHICH YOU WANT TO SEAL IT WITH....

It looks like the old owner used oil soap or something to shine the floors, but it's been slippery for days and I can't seem to wipe them enough to make a difference. I can't even put my furniture in there yet.

Buy absorbent pads at your local hardware store. I use them at work when there are hydraulic leaks on the road.

My sister in law got pregnant at 16, to a guy she didnt know. Kept it secret until she found a 15 yr old boy that would take on the child as his own and then got him to tell the family that she was 5 months pregnant.

It ripped the family apart and things were really rocky, but we all gave them a chance and slowly put things back together. At this stage they lived between his and her parents, depending on who was nagging them too much at the time.

2 months after the first baby was born she got pregnant to this 15 (now 16) yr old and again kept it a secret until she was about 5 months pregnant.

This second baby was planned. The guy had decided that since she had a baby, he should have one too and they could live together for ever in happy family land.

This whole time the family is supporting them, giving them handouts for everything, got them into their first rental home, provided them with everything they would need for baby. Even buying them groceries and paying their bills for them..... as they once went for 6 weeks without power so the guy could get a tattoo.

Neither of them work... or do anything else. Child protection monitors them weekly, since the 10 month old was run over on the driveway and has permanent brain damage.

All they seem to do is drink and smoke cigarettes.... the house is a complete mess... no worse than a mess, you have to step over the old fishnchips, walk around the cornchips, dodge the dirty nappies, puppy poo and clothes to sit on the couch that is covered in mould.
We all pitched in and provided them with nice furniture, but it has all been swapped for tattoo or beer... some has even been cut up and used on the fire.

They dont get caught out by Child Protection because they get at least an hour warning if they are coming to do an inspection, so they pack everything up into cupboards and draws and chuck a borrowed sheet over the couch... making the house borderline suitable for CPs standards.

Meanwhile... as all this is going on with them. My partner and I have my child from a previous marriage, we work, we pay our bills, we bought our first house.... we are super responsible and always doing the right thing.

At the beginning of this year my partner and I decided that now was the right time for us to have a baby. We did all that the right way too, taking all the right suppliments and researched everything we could want to know about making a baby.
Happily, our first month trying I got pregnant. Everyone was over the moon. Both families couldnt be happier.

The only people not happy for us were these 2 irresponsible parents. It was like we were taking all the attention away from them.

We all knew what they would do, so it didnt really come as a suprise when they txt us to say that she was pregnant with number 3.

Now I am so upset, Im not sure why or i even should be upset. I feel like, this was our turn to be a little bit special and we deserve it, this is a really special time for us... it just sux that they have taken the shine away from us... again.

And not just that.... they have been told by CPs that if they were to have another child, all the children would be taken from them. So now we have to worry about what will happen to these poor little boys and the baby thats on the way. These kids already have it so hard, the only time they get any kind of parenting is when these 2 palm them off on family members... which is often.

The kids hate it at home so much that the oldest crys when nana says its time to go home.... he says "no please nana, dont make me" and he has talked about how "daddy punch" when we ask how he got injuries.
Im scared for these kids as much as Im upset for my own selfish reasons.... this is a mess.

I think they are being so stupid and selfish... bringing a baby into the world just to be center of attention again... It makes me so furious that I dont ever want to speak to them again!

Why would they do this?
What should I do?

Both Child Protection and the family keeps giving them chances to improve.
I have a feeling their chances are running out with this 3rd child on the way though.
I seem to be the only one brave enough (and mouthy enough) to say it how it is and call a horse a horse.
Im hoping to talk to the family this weekend, to try and convince them that more needs to be done.
Ive always thought we should take the kids and cut them off... a bit of super tough love would do them some good.... but everyone thinks im a meanie

Did it ever occur to you guys that maybe they are the way they are because you guys keep giving them free stuff? Just asking. I mean I understand that they are family but if they aren't doing anything for themselves then stop giving them handouts. It's understandable that it is for the sake of the kids but what those kids really need is for you guys to raise them properly and get them away from those lunatics. It's just all too much. I really feel for those poor kids. I'm sorry they stole your thunder but at least you'll always have the satisfaction of knowing that you're receiving the positive attention while they are receiving the opposite. Congrats on the baby though and hopefully all this gets sorted out and something is done for the sake of those baby's.

I am starting a partnership with Bill. Bill's dad has a shady background and wants to invest six figures into the company. All the company accounts, certificates, business license and registrations will be in my name. Bill is under the age of 19. I was planning on getting a lawyer to draw up a partnership agreement for Bill and I. I have no idea where the six figure investment is coming from. How much trouble can I get in if it's transferred into my account and it is found out at a later date that it was launderd money.

If there are any precautions that I should be taking please let me know, nothing has been signed or opened yet.

Plain and simple, if you have this much doubt already, walk away. There are safer ways to gain start up and investment capital, than gathering funds from a shady person. When a persons past comes back to haunt them, it also haunts all of those they do business with.
