I will be moving in the next month and a half to Canberra and I am clueless as to where I can buy home furniture and appliances. Any suggestions of stores I can shop/browse online and or have my boyfriend go check these out (he just moved there as well)? Thanks =)
It's like any other city -- do a search online.
Fyschwick is a good place to go. It's in NSW just outside of Canberra not far from the airport. It's an industrial type area but has furniture stores etc out there.

Im going to start fresh and new at a new place, so I need everything. I want to get good quality things for my home but without the need of going to expensive stores to get them. Ive seen things like furniture at stores like target but I don't know if they really are good quality. Any help please?

PopArt Furniture has some pretty nice, low prim pieces. I was able to completely furnish my 117 prim Linden Home with pieces I bought at PopArt, and everything you see in these pictures (with the exception of the fireplace and the ceiling lamps that came with my Linden home) cost $1L each.
