We do have so many varieties of furniture at our homes & we can, if needed, change those. Say, you can arrange so many things to sit on, sleep on, rest on.....but what alternatives do you really have to MIRRORS? Noticed one more thing, we do have very less quantities of mirror in our homes!
It's a funny question as well as interesting! I do agree that we posses so many other furniture (even some extra) but we keep less quantities of mirror: one at dressing table & the others are at each bathrooms or toilets. No, we don't have any alternatives to mirrors. This is probably, mirror is an most essential yet 'less-time-used' thing. When guests come, they don't come to see their faces or their dresses; but they need enough seats to sit, bed to take rest, table to use at dinner-time, a rack to hang their coats, gowns etc. If any of them need mirror, they know well that they would get so in lavatory or wash-rooms. That's the philosophy behind the less quantities of mirror in any house.

p.s. on the other hand, a jewelery shop, a ready-made dress shop, a haircutting salon, a Beauty parlor etc use as much mirrors as possible because of their nature of business.
It is more vertical than horizontal. It has many smallish compartments and even drawers. The small T.V. only barely fits into the biggest space. Is this piece of furniture called a home entertainment center? It looks more like a dresser. What is another word for it?
You may have an armoire, which is a French term for this sort of closet cabinet, albeit yours is not designed for clothing but for electronics.
