I want to add more color to my hallways, kitchen, living room, etc., but the problem is that i would like to avoid the color brown. The reason is cabinets in the kitchen, couches, dining tables are all brown or tan based, but I do have white tiles floors throughout the home that include brown 1/4 grout spacers. So, ideally i would like to use some green, purple, blue, pretty much any light color to make my house seem bigger.
How about a pale blue, like "Swimming" by Sherwin Williams? It's a lovely bright blue that would look fantastic with all of your wood. Brown & blue is a really hot color combo right now. Check it out:

If you have any trim or need to paint the ceiling, "extra white" will add to the brightness factor. A bright area rug will help, too:

I also think some lime colored artwork would look really smashing against that blue wall color. I like “an orchid 1941” or “Peacock Be-bop II”:

Every time I am away I come home to a mess. My dog has chewed up the living room furniture to the point of embarrassment. I love the dog and right now am afraid to buy any new furniture. HELP PLEASE!
Ahhh, don't leave the dog loose in the house when you are not home. It's like leaving a 2 yr old child alone loose in your house.
Crate the dog or leave him in a laundry room or bathroom or put up a baby gate to keep him in a certain area of the house. Leave him with a stuffed Kong or two to keep him busy.
We are looking to get carpet at home depot and having them install it throughout the whole upstairs. My concern is with all the things we have in each of the rooms like furniture. Will the guys move it for us, or do we have a lot of work ahead of us? Has anyone had experience with this? And what did you/they do? Thanks!
They will move furniture. One word of advice though. We had home depot install carpet in our house. They installed the carpet but when they went to put the doors on the hinges some of the doors would not close due to the new carpet. We had a 3 month battle over this with home depot. If possible make sure somebody is home to monitor the work.
I would appreciate a few suggestions. I was initially thinking of nice leather but I heard it stains quite easily and I don't want sodas/food to spill over while watching TV. Do you have any suggestions for mid-priced furniture? My home theater is quite nice. I spent $10,000 for a Hi-Def TV, Blue-ray player, and Bose speakers. So I am not looking for a cheap look. Definitely nothing as cheap as Ikea or Walmart! But nothing tooo expensive as some of those 100% full top grain leather furniture I have seen in ads costing $3,500. . I am looking for a living room set - Sofas, Loveseat, recliner chair. Any links would be appreciated. Any specific suggestions as to what kind of furniture is resistant to stains, would also be appreciated. Thanks.
idk. But, I do know, I would to come over. Sounds, like your place is the place to be.
Have a good evening.
