Can anyone help please? How do we give our pine furniture the old and distressed look in white/cream?

We are re-vamping our home and trying to age our furniture shabby chic style, can anyone help please?

Depending on the wood quality (finished or raw), there are a number of tricks in the antiquing trade that you can draw on.
Multiple layers of different colored base paints lightly scraped, dinged with chains, rounds of finish nails (finish nails held together with rubber bands) to simulate worm holes, or even light burning!
All that gets the finish color, light sanding to reveal undercoat color or logical wear edges, then finish with a couple coats of satin or gloss polyurethane!

How do you remove water spots out of pine furniture to finish?

I have had a pine dresser for a while that I finally got around to staining with Polystain, and there are water spots on it that were revealed when I stained it. I was told by someone at the Home Depot that bleach will get the spots off. Is there truth to this? Wouldn't that be adding another liquid onto the unfinished wood? Should I strip the dresser and start over or is there something I can do with it other than choose a really dark/black stain or paint?

Not to be a smart alec, but you may want to reconsider paint. Water damage on unfinished pine goes deep into the wood, because pine is pretty soft and porous. Unfortunately you've compounded the problem by using polystain which, in effect, seals the stain in. If all that weren't bad enough, the polystain product (which I REALLY don't like) contains both a stain and urethane, so just playing with the shade of the stain isn't much of an option.
Before the dresser was finished, bleach may have lightened the dark spot, but now you'd need to sand off the finish, try the bleach and re-finish. The good news is, if you do choose to sand it back to bare wood, it's very unlikely that you'll have to worry about sanding through veneers. The use of veneers is rare on a pine cabinet. Sorry for being negative, I wish there were an easier way to fix the problem

Should I paint my living room walls which are rough hewn knotty pine. Furniture is traditional & oriental?

I am considering selling my home, and want to appeal to as many people as possible. The room is 26' X 16' with a brick fireplace on the short wall. Also I am considering replacing carpeting (same room) or putting down hardwood floors. I can't make up my mind and money is short. My house is on 11 acres of land. 6 acres cleared pasture for horses, and the remainder is wooded.

Never paint the wood, if you want a different color than stain it or restain it. natural is always best. If the buyer wants the living room a different color than they can do it themselves for their taste.

I have very old original heart of pine floors......what tone of furniture would be best? Thank You?

I love my 1922 Prairie Craftsman home and plan to redo the Dining Room soon........just need to know what tones of furniture and colors would be best with the old pine floors.
I am not asking for a style of furniture, but rather, the type of wood to use ; ie dark, medium, or light tones...such as walnut, maple, mahogany, etc. What would look best with the warmth of the old pine floors?

I am not sure if you meant to say style of furniture. Amish or American style. A table with tapered legs, a trestle, a pedestal base or farmhouse will work in stains (tone) shown in the link below. Paint colors were typically earth colors, such as green, brown or ocher.
