I was planning to rent a car and drive to the south, but my family suggested me to think about moving companies or services... I have to send both books and some light furniture I'd like to keep. Anyone can help and tell me where to go, who to contact ?

contact a normal moving company and if you are not in a hurry have them put it on the next truck going to Boston it is very cheap but make sure you look for a national chain or you may never see you stuff again

what furniture stores in miami, florida are flexible when applying for credit? I recently applied at rooms to go and they denied me even though I have pretty good credit.

Most of them use Wells Fargo Financial, so if you already have a credit with them most likely they will nor approve a second one. Try El Dorado Furniture or IKEA!!

we are getting ready to move from miami, fl to new york city. we need to rent a truck or large van to move a small one bedrooms worth of furniture to our new home. (we are getting rid of our vehicle before the move since we won't need it in ny). i've checked out the big guys (u-haul, penske,budget) and i can't seem to find anything for less than $1000! we really don't have that much stuff, the trip is 1300 miles and is obviously just one way. help? please?

Rent a U-Haul pickup and trailer in Miami for local use unlimited mileage, several days use, make the trip up drive it back, turn it in in Miami and jump the Greyhound or Amtrak back to NYC.
That last part's a good way to get hubby out of the house while you unpack the kitchen and arrange the furniture the way you want it without him underfoot. ;) Besides the lone man on the road spirit of adventure blah blah blah it's manly.
Ok blast me for the fraudulent use of the rental. C'mon I'm ready.
Captains Log Supplemental: It was on my review of the question and asker that I realized there might not be a hubby involved as it could as easily be roommates or brothers. For the record I have rendered a hearty slap to my forehead and uttered DOH! over the intercom to all levels of the ship. That is all

clld once & left. I got home @ 12:05..now service says will
be 1 more week b-4 returning (we ordered from company 2hrs away in Miami) & they want to charge us an addt'l $275..

I'm ready to cancel the whole order. Shouldn't they have waited to atleast 12:10?

It's not very often you see someone complain because the company was on time.

Because you are so far away they probably made a special trip just for you. If you were in the Miami area they probably would have come by again after making some other deliveries.

Cancel your order. I can't see where it is worth $275 no matter how good of a deal you got.
