I am building a new home in Gulf Shores, AL and I am having all kind of problems with this builder. He promised me the house would be finished in 90 days and it's been almost a year! The square footage we agreed on does not match the actual house. The color of the kitchen cabinets are wrong and now my new furniture does not match. There are more issues but not enough space here to list. All I want is my house to be finished so that I can move in.

Sounds to me like this guy is a real bozo.
Call the contractors licensing board in your state. They are usually located in the same building as all the other state offices in your capital town.
Find out what his licensing is and then find out from them what the reports have been on him. You can at that time file a complaint to be investigated by the state. You can also file a legal lawsuit based on your contract.
Does it state that he would be done in 90 days? If things are not matching, why did they get accepted by the contractor and not checked by you prior to installation? Why is the square footage off? Are the rafters right? Are the studs right? Is the place square and are things level? Is the footers at the right depth? Has there been an inspector throughout this process? What does the building inspector say? If there has not been an inspector at all through this time frame I strongly suggest you stop everything right now and tell him that a hold has to be placed until the state building inspector comes and clears the building.
You do have the right to fire this guy and find someone else.
You have a lot of rights that you are not aware of right at this moment because the flustration is getting high.
Call the state contractors licensing board in the morning and go from there.
Sometimes a shake up from the state will get them on the move. Sounds like he's not the most motivated person, we have one here in our area that it takes 2-3 years to get a 3 bedroom house built. We have a modular that just went in this last year that they are still not done with it and that has been about a year and most of the building was done.
I think some of this is due to the fact that people are not being as careful in their work and not taking as much pride in their jobs.
Too bad, those of us that do it right and quick get the shaft because the guys like the one you have came in with the lowest bid. Sometimes the lowest bid is never the best.
Good luck and I do hope that you can get what you want out of this and get the house back to your way. I would hate to spend my hard earned money for something that wasn't even what I wanted and I had it built to my specs.

i have a model home from 1975 or 1976 thats what i want to find out how long could it be for a model home to be a model a year? my previous owners were original bought it in june of 76 the toliet is 9 8 76 do model homes have toliets or are there no furniture southwest suburbs of chicago il my builders were malone and maloney inc i might sell it i need to know hen it was built.

The model home would be the first home built in the development. A year or 2 difference in the age does not matter, so it does not matter if it was built in 1975 or 1976. Yes, model homes have toilets. They have to be fully furnished and fully functional to show what the real home would look like. Some model homes were furnished, others don't have furniture, to show how big the rooms are. But they all have toilets, sinks, and appliances, just as the home would when it was finally sold.

Just read it closely,no employer is going to let you take accounts receivable and let you keep a portion of it for payment with out going through company payroll.
