Home Furniture Hire

We are trying to hire a van to move home furniture but my parter and I can only drive automatics. We live in North London but I am looking to hire from anywhere in London. All the sites I have looked at so far only provide manual vans. Please help!! Thanks S :)

We have moved half of my stuff into a new home and I was wanting to see if I could hire some movers to move the other half at a good price. I prefer to use family members but do you have any other suggestions?

Two Men and A Truck - a small franchise which is just what it sounds like - you get a couple of movers and a truck to do light moving for you - check your local listings.

Check your local newspaper for other such businesses, or the yellow pages for 'movers'.

I know someone who's used the "Two Men and A Truck" before, and he was pleased with their service.

I am just one man building custom furniture and the internet is not an easy way to find places that hire independent workers. Could somebody please help.

You will have better luck doing the work just like you are and selling it through a local furniture store(mom and pop). Let your reputation create the business for you. A manufacturer will want too much of your money, or they will make what you should be making.

I'm moving out and have absolutely no one to help me out and was thinking of hiring one of those Guys but I'm wondering how much I'd have to pay them

I've never paid anyone to help me move, but my friend paid a local moving business to move her things about 30-40 miles to an upstairs apartment. They did all the work and had their own equipment, and it cost about $250. It's a lot of work and I'd pay them at least $10-$15 an hour just to load it up and unload it. It will cost more if you're using a service that provides the trucks/trailers and lifts. If you're worried about costs, I suggest you call in a team of friends. That's what friends are for. LOL :)

I have a beagle, about an year old. He is extremely aggressive and tends to spoil a lot of home furniture. we hired a trainer earlier but had to let him go after a month since he was not able to make any difference to the dog's beheviour.
