I relocated to Oklahoma City to be closer to my daughter who had some physical challenges. I had to leave my furniture in storage in Chicago in order to move quickly (she had just had another surgery). I couldn't get a job as quickly as I wanted to, but I have one now. Now the storage bill is currently over $2000 and much more than I can afford. The moving company also wants an additional $3000 to deliver the furniture to me. I don't want to lose my furniture, but I don't have the money or resources to get it. If someone could help me with the storage bill and to rent a truck, I would drive back to Chicago to get the furniture and drive it to Oklahoma City myself. I just need help with the bill. I'm not asking anyone to give me the money directly. Any assistance offered can be sent directly to the moving and storage company, I just need the help. I will work out any payment arrangements to return the financial assistance. Can anyone help me?

whoever you choose..make sure its not all american movers..my stuff was 3 weeks late and three boxes missing

My daughter just moved to chicago and was there 3 days and started to get bites. They are saying it's her fault, she brought them there. She was living at home with her parents who have never had bugs. All her furniture was stored at home with us. We now have to get items cleaned and possiably throw out furniture.
Her mattress, pillows and chase lounge. Are they responsable for any of this?

bed bugs come from the inside of the matress and feed off dead skin cells. this is from her, not the new apt.

storing the items starved the bugs and it looks like they are now hungrier more than ever. normally they feed off the skin the falls into the matress, but at times they will come to the surface.

this is why you always change matress's every 5 years. the old saying "don't let the bed bugs bite" was from truth, not myth.

storing furniture, even in a house, just unused, will cause small bugs, spiders, etc to take up home.

i have a model home from 1975 or 1976 thats what i want to find out how long could it be for a model home to be a model a year? my previous owners were original bought it in june of 76 the toliet is 9 8 76 do model homes have toliets or are there no furniture southwest suburbs of chicago il my builders were malone and maloney inc i might sell it i need to know hen it was built.

The model home would be the first home built in the development. A year or 2 difference in the age does not matter, so it does not matter if it was built in 1975 or 1976. Yes, model homes have toilets. They have to be fully furnished and fully functional to show what the real home would look like. Some model homes were furnished, others don't have furniture, to show how big the rooms are. But they all have toilets, sinks, and appliances, just as the home would when it was finally sold.

I will be living in Lincoln Park at a Senior citizen apartment building. I am disabled but get around OK.
There used to be a company called "HOME" that would come in and furnish your apartment for free. A person would come one day and go over what would look nice and you would get it within a very few days. Is there anything like this still operating in the Chicago area.
