Banner day today for news stories that are a sign of the times.
#1. Race is on for the Texas governor election. Republican in trouble because he refuses to answer questions about rising unemployment during his term. Asked about it on live radio, he said, "It's true, we've lost 270,000 jobs but the rate has slowed." But the commentator slams him by pointing out that there were actually 350,000 jobs lost on the private sector, while 80,000 NEW ones were created -- guess where? IN TEXAS GOVERNMENT!!! Not exactly what you'd call your basic anti-big-government scenario.
Eerie was the sidelight about the 'Tea Party Independent' candidate who, according to the commentary, lost her points and position when she appeared on the Glenn Beck radio show and was asked about US Government complicity in the events of 9/11. She said, "There's a lot of evidence, but I think it is premature to say it is sure." Guess what. Her viewpoint was TOO MODERATE! Heresy!
OFF WITH HER HEAD!
Now, you'd think that double-barreled fiasco would for sure be the top hypocrite story of the day. But that would be ignoring Florida -- ALWAYS a mistake when duplicity is the subject.
#2: It turns out that there's a Florida legal-eagle guy named Freeman who, after being named business "Man of the Year" in 2005 became, with recent events, the Golden Boy of choice to clean up finance; being appointed as Receiver by the courts when all the bankruptcies, foreclosures and defaults began to pile sky-high. He's the one who steps in to stop the bleeding, taking possession of what is left and liquidates it so that the poor folks who have been scammed and lost their homes or life savings or whatever it is get at least something back after the crooks like Bernie Madoff are caught, or corporations go under leaving nothing but office furniture and shredded paper behind.
Well hang onto your hat. Sir Galahad Freeman was indicted today in Miami for like a bazillion counts of larceny, fraud, and grand theft. Turns out he was skimming all along , and took millions of dollars for himself. Actually stealing from the people who had already been stolen from! You have to admire the chutzpah, I guess. Call it "Equity Recycling".
#3: Meanwhile, I heard yet another one of those chummy TV advertisements in the new vein from some investment company or other -- all about "We know how it is. We look after you like family in these tough times", and so on. But when the name-hook came at the end, I almost fell out of my chair. No, you'll never guess. AIG.
It's the old riddle:
Q: Why do people who live next to Niagara Falls have ears that stick out and a flat forehead?
A: Because every morning they wake up and say, "What's that noise?" *hands push ears out*, and then "Oh! The FALLS!" *slaps forehead*.
You're too much for me, man; wouldn't even attempt to post a meaningful response - would take way too much time and energy.
Just wanted to let you know that I greatly admire your writing skills: most impressive. Just wondering if you're a professional Journalist?
Take care,
Alberich

A Guide to Workplace Planning | Davie Florida Order Fulfillment
Introduction
In the current economic climate, it’s not just employees who will be coming under scrutiny in many organisations, but the effective use of work space as well.
With major advancements around the use and accessibility to mobile technology, it’s faster and easier and in some cases more efficient for both employer and employee to agree a flexible working arrangement. So as well as the traditional arrangements for office based personnel, employees have become able to work from home and work from several areas over the working week. Even if in an work place, hot-desking, touch-down areas or hotelling are all common arrangements being generated for the mobile employee.
In providing this flexibility, it is necessary that the company considers how to make certain the company premises are utilized to their maximum efficiency. It is a major test for just about any employer, who will not wish to view rows and rows of empty desks day after day.
