I want a platform bed that almost sits on the floor and extends at least 5-6 inches past the mattress.

"Cheap" is relative. $6,000 is cheap compared to $10,000... which are the prices you might be talking about if you're thinking about buying a knock off of a Mies Van Der Roh Design.

If you mean $200 "cheap", go to IKEA.

Some things look so simple but they're expensive because they're made by a famous designer. I think the right people in China could cheaply make a good replica with quality material, saving lots if it's all shipped home in the one container. Anyone have experience in this field?

I bought most my furniture through a home designer because she basicially designed my home inside with the builders and the furniture is unlike you can find at a furniture store....how much do you think she marked it up? plus she designed how everything looks inside.

you are looking at 100% off of the shelf, store quality, for designer level in excess of 1000%, but you are paying. for someone to do the work that you could have done just as easily, and that is in essence how they make a living. a good quality living room suite can be had for under $1000, add a few fancy fabric colors and hard sell,and some sweet talk, and you have the bottom line of your bill.

Hi,
I am referring to the person you call when you want to redesign your home - furniture, rooms etc. when moving to a new place for example or just have a new baby and want to move your office from one room and make it your child's and then for example move the office to the living room and buy the right furniture for that etc..

what is the name of the profession you invite to your house to take measurements , give ideas and help with that?
