Regarding Chris Benoit the news is bad & I thought I would post this official news page?

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. -- Pro wrestler Chris Benoit strangled his wife, suffocated his 7-year-old son and placed a Bible next to their bodies before hanging himself with the pulley of a weightlifting machine, authorities said Tuesday. Investigators found prescription anabolic steroids in the house and want to know whether the muscle man was unhinged by the drugs, which can cause paranoia, depression and explosive outbursts known as "roid rage." Authorities offered no motive for the killings, which were spread out over a weekend, and would not discuss Benoit's motive or state of mind. No suicide note was found. "I'm baffled about why anybody would kill a 7-year-old," District Attorney Scott Ballard said. "I don't think we'll ever be able wrap our head around that." Benoit, a Montreal native whose nickname was "The Canadian Crippler," was one of the stars of the WWE wrestling circuit and was known for his wholesome family man image. His wife, Nancy, was a wrestling stage manager who worked under the name "Woman." They met and fell in love when their wrestling story lines intertwined. When he won the world heavyweight championship, Benoit (pronounced ben-WAH) hoisted the belt over his head and invited his wife and child into the ring to celebrate. Nevertheless, Nancy Benoit filed for a divorce in 2003, saying the couple's three-year marriage was irrevocably broken and alleging "cruel treatment." She later dropped the complaint, as well as a request for a restraining order in which she charged that the 5-foot-10, 220-pound Benoit had threatened her and had broken furniture in their home. In the divorce filing, she said Benoit made more than $500,000 a year as a professional wrestler and asked for permanent custody of Daniel and child support. In his response, Benoit sought joint custody. The bodies were found Monday afternoon in three rooms of the house, off a gravel road. Benoit's wife, 43, was killed Friday in an upstairs family room, her feet and wrists were bound and there was blood under her head, indicating a possible struggle, Ballard said. The son, Daniel, was probably killed late Saturday or early Sunday, the body found in his bed, Ballard said. Benoit, 40, apparently killed himself several hours and as long as a day later, Ballard said. His body was found in a downstairs weight room, his body found hanging from the pulley of a piece of exercise equipment. The prosecutor said he found it "bizarre" that the WWE wrestling star spread out the killings over a weekend and appeared to remain in the house for up to a day with the bodies. Toxicology test results may not be available for weeks or even months, he said. As for whether steroids played a role in the crime, he said: "We don't know yet. That's one of the things we'll be looking at." Neighbors said the Benoits led a low-key lifestyle. "We would see Chris walking in his yard from time to time. He wasn't rude, but he wasn't really outwardly warm," said Alaina Jones, who lives across the street. Jimmy Baswell, who was Benoit's driver for more than five years, placed a white wreath at the Benoits' gate. "They always seemed like they were the happiest people," he said. World Wrestling Entertainment said on its Web site that it asked authorities to check on Benoit and his family after being alerted by friends who received "several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning." The WWE, based in Stamford, Conn., said authorities asked that it not release further information on the deaths. "WWE extends its sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Benoit family's relatives and loved ones in this time of tragedy," the company said in a statement on its Web site. "He was like a family member to me, and everyone in my family is taking it real hard," said fellow Canadian Bret Hart, a five-time champion with the World Wrestling Federation. The federation has since changed its name to World Wrestling Entertainment. Benoit had maintained a home in Atlanta from the time he wrestled for the defunct World Championship Wrestling. The Fayette County Tax Assessors Office lists the value of the house, on more than 8.5 acres, at nearly $900,000.
The WWE canceled its live "Monday Night RAW" card in Corpus Christi, Texas, and USA Network aired a three-hour tribute to Benoit in place of the scheduled wrestling telecast. Benoit had two other children from a prior relationship.

Funny stories anyone?

Does anyone have any funny stories? Embarrassing? Classic? Children asking funny questions?

Here's mine...
One day, my mother had to babysit her nephew, Daniel, and as she was putting him in the car to take him home a really wild storm started. The thunder clapped and it started pouring rain.
Daniel was really scared because he thought the car would get struck by lightning and was scared out of his mind by the thunder.
My mum tried to comfort him by saying "don't worry about the thunder. It's just God moving his furniture" which is something most of us would've said.
Daniel surprisingly replied "I don't like God anymore."
My mum frowned and asked why.
Daniel said "his furniture looks fine the way it is."

Kids sound so cleaver until they know what to say.

...How fights start:..
A man took his wife to a restaurant. The waiter, for some reason took
his order first.
The man said, he'll have the strip steak, medium rare, please.
Waiter said, "Aren't you worried about the mad cow?"
"Nah, she can order for herself."
Then the fight started.....

Do you think the CPS were right to drop charges?

My 18 y/o daughter was recently assaulted (sexually) by my ex- S.I.L's 50 y/o Partner. My daughter was traumatised as she thought he was a good friend and all the while he was "grooming" her. Her mother (bitch!) tried to sweep it under the carpet & warned her not to tell me (her Father), as I would "deck" him! A fortnight goes by and nothings been done, so she tells me. I flip, but respect her wishes & instead of battering him (50 y/o perv.), I go by the book & involve the Police.
Statements are taken from various people involved, he's arrested but deny's any wrong doing. After not much by the Police, he's free with no charges brought!! Earlier, he had told my ex- S.I.L "****" said I'd done this. She realises "****" was telling the truth, as this is what they do while they have sex. She makes him go and apologise (I wouldn't have done this if I was innocent, as it makes you guilty straight away!). Her own Mother kicks her out for telling me instead of giving her the support she so badly needed. Ended up staying round one of her mates homes as all her friends were there (told her to get her gear & come live with me but, refused "see latter"). I wanted to tear him a new A***hole (like any Father would), but she pleaded with me not to do anything silly. So I relented. Now I've found out he's been let off with no charges by the CPS and my daughter is in a right state. I'm VERY, VERY tempted now!!!! He has ruined her life by "be-friending" her, when all along, he's been "grooming" her & took his chance when he had the opportunity whilst she was asleep. He was sat on her legs, pulled her top up and groped her round the insides of her thighs. She was too frightened to say or do anything. When he got off, she "woke" up & said she had to go home & made her excuses & quickly left. She ran to her mates house sobbing her heart out and blurted out what had happened.

The Police have dragged their heels over this and can't see past their own noses & the CPS have failed my daughter in their duties to bring charges against this Daniel Graham of RTA Furniture based on Teesside Industrial Estate, Thornaby as he is a SEXUAL PREDATOR, free to "groom" another victim. I'm at a loss as what to do and feel so bloody useless for my daughter who's in such a bad way over all this. I'm frightened she might do something stupid.
Richard_SM You obviously find it a laugh and obviously aren't a Father. He basically "Raped" my daughter and the Police/CPS aren't doing nowt about it. If it was one of my mate's daughter's who had been treat like this, the Police wouldn't be involved and the "problem" would have been "sorted", if you catch my drift?? The Police failed on a number of enquiries that should have been checked and never were. These may have been crucial to the case. But now, we'll never know will we? I'm not letting it lie and intend getting justice for my traumatised daughter and an official complaint is being lodged at my local Nick today. So Richard_SM, think a bit more carefully before you offer your advice and read between the lines properly.
Doethineb- She did give a good description of what happened on the day in question. She and myself reported it to the Police and statements were taken from both myself, and my daughter. I know she's classed as an adult and the Police have already explained that they don't have to speak to me or act for me as she is an adult now. My daughter requested that they co-operated with me as she is that traumatised by all this.
It still doesn't give him the right tho to roll up her top and "fondle/grope" her, take a photo (via mobile) and grope her inner thighs. She wouldn't "wake" up whilst he was on top of her legs as she was too frightened to do anything in case he went further. She moved and he got off her quickly. She then made her excuses, and left, running straight to her mates crying her eyes out!
I've been advised by a Inspector to write a letter to both the Head of CPS for our area and forward the same letter to the Head of Professional Stds for Cleveland Police. So it looks like I'll be burning the midnight oil for a while over this matter. If nothing comes of it, then who knows, he better keep watching over his shoulder! There is also my other daughter (who's only 15, but she would probably batter him if he tried out.....lol), and there is their neice by another Auntie who could be targeted by this sick, sad, dirty old pervert! My ex- S.I.L won't kick him out because she couldn't afford to live (sad, innit? Got her priorities right eh?). My ex-wife is more bothered about "losing" her family rather than her "immediate" family! So she's another one who's got her priorities right as well! We'll see how this letter goes once drafted and posted via recorded delivery, so no excuses!

Your daughter is an adult and she must lay the complaint. It sounds rather as though she was too upset by what happened to give a coherent account of things to the police. You say that this happened while she was asleep. It's not clear when she woke up, but it would be all too easy for a clever defence lawyer to present a picture of a young girl having a nightmare and this man hearing her cry out and coming in to calm her down. They only bring cases where there is a reasonable prospect of a conviction and here there is only the evidence of a girl who was "sleeping" and no forensic evidence to go on. At least she's out of it now and nothing even more devastating occurred.

How is this piece of writing?

When Caroline was four, she began to realize her life didn’t make sense. It was a mess of contradictions, a collage or truths and fibs.
Her mother wore beautiful dresses purchased from the ritziest shops in town, her father the highest quality suits, yet Caroline and her sister Susannah were dressed in clothes from garage sales.
Their home had bits and pieces of wealth in it, a $2000 painting here, random designer silverware sets there, yet their furniture was tattered and found at Goodwill and on the street.
And the location and appearance of the home! It was in the slummiest of all the slums in Chicago, a tiny mess of wood with chipped white paint and patches of dead yellow grass. It was decorated with a chain-link fence with holes and cracks all over, barbed wire woven along the top to ward off the many crooks in the neighborhood. Once, when Caroline was three, she had ignorantly attempted to climb over the fence just for fun. She had ended up with stitches on her leg.
Helen Scarr, her mother, sent Caroline and Susannah to the ritziest schools in Chicago, all across the city on the North side, where they hired the best teachers and had the daughter of mayor enrolled, yet when a field trip costing $20 came up, the girls were unable to afford it.
Helen had friends from the affluent church the Scarr’s attended for Sunday mass that were unbelievably wealthy and frivolous and glamorous and beautiful, but they never, ever came to call. Caroline often feared they knew their secret, that they somehow sensed that the Scarr family was not one of their caliber and never would be.
Caroline’s father Samuel was a rough man that had 22 years under his belt. He was the most confusing man Caroline had ever seen or met, her own papa. He was charming and sophisticated in public, and he spoke in a subtle voice that was powerful in the quietest, most alluring way, dry humor glimmering from him occasionally. Samuel was attractive in public, both in physical appearance and wit, and he enamored the whole of Chicago. Caroline often thought about how he resembled Bogart in his manner, from the way he talked in that low, husky voice that demanded your attention, down to the fat cigar forever perched in his mouth.
That was in public, when Caroline watched him in awe, captivated, like everyone else in the room.
At home, he was a different sort of brandy. He was rough and loud, and his favorite activity, besides gambling with his pals, was sitting on the holey blue couch, nursing a Jack Daniels. He would blurt out odd things when Helen walked by, things that were not appropriate or things that simply were rude. Helen would ignore it for a while, and if Caroline or Susannah asked about him, she would tell them he was “sick” and send them to their room.
Then, about two hours and three whiskeys later, Helen and Samuel would begin to argue, and soon the girls could hear the terrifying symphony of alcohol-induced rage: earth-shattering shouts from Samuel, sobs and pleas from Helen. Somewhere, a crash would sound against the wall, and more sobs and yells could be heard.
Finally the fight would end, usually when the whiskey ran out, and the meaningless shouts and crashes turned into the quiet locking of Helen’s bedroom door and the rough opening of the front one.
Then tiny whispers could be heard from Helen’s room. Those words, those tiny undertones in the dark of the freezing Chicago night, were so much more powerful than anything Samuel yelled or Helen sobbed. They were words of innocence, words of hope, and Caroline would remember the sound of them coming out of her mother’s mouth for the rest of her life.
“Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy
Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work too may be holy
Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I love but what is holy
Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy
Guide me then, O Holy Spirit, that I always may be holy.
Amen”
