Transitional Dining Room Furniture

If I paint my sitting room gray and have brown leather furniture, what color accents should i use?
Interior Dining

I would really like to use a medium gray color paint in my formal living and dining rooms. I have dark brown furniture, and am curious as to what colors i should accent with? I want a clean, sophisticated look that is a bit modern, a bit traditional (transitional) Do you know where I could find picture examples of this style?

Aesthetically, I would think that since you have one dark color (brown) and one neutral color (gray), you should balance it out with a bright color (red). If you'd like an example of how bright red goes with neutral grey, look to the color balance of Ohio State University's school colors. In a living area, it would yield a modern look. Bright green would also be a good choice if you added large green plants to the mix.

What color ceramic tile floor with Cherry cabinets and Emerald Pearl granite?

We are remodelling the kitchen with dark cherry cabinets (not quite espresso, but darker than traditional cherry stain) and we FINALLY settled on the Emerald Pearl granite for the counters and island. The appliances are stainless with touches of black. I need to find a tile that will go with the new kitchen while blending in with the rest of the house, as it is going on the floor in all of the living areas (they are open to each other.) Living room furniture major pieces are an oxblood red leather couch (contemporary/transitional style) and an espresso stained coffee table with espresso leather ottomans and a contemporary neutral floral-ish overstuffed chair. My plan is to have a pale palomino color on the living room walls, and a pale-to-mid tone blue-green in the kitchen/dining to enhance the granite and contrast slightly with the cabinets; but paint colors are flexible...I like the color variation of slate, but I want ceramic tile for its durability. Is slate too dark?
this is the color of the granite

Hi there. I am assuming the Emerald Pearl is a blue-green color so here it goes. I hope you like lots of color; it's brave and looks great after. You will get a lot of compliments because most people are too scared to add a lot of color. Remember you can always change paint colors frequently but flooring is a lot more costly to re-do. I honestly think that a slate color would be great and is not too dark as long as it is neutral - browns/tans/black preferably the lighter hues as your kitchen cabinets are quite dark and you want your kitchen to be bright and cheery as you spend a lot of time there. It's OK to have the living room dark. If you go with a mid/darker color paint in the Kitchen, you could do just 1 or 2 walls so that they are your feature walls and the other 2 or 3 walls could be your main color, either tan or light mustard. Back to flooring, my friend actually has a slate color lino in her kitchen and it looks great as it doesn't show every speck of dirt. I have heard ceramic tile is higher maintenance due to the grout; sealing has to be done quite often or else stains will never come out. Ceramic tile is also cold to the touch in the winter. There is a new tile out there that isn't cold to the touch because it is actually lino with the look of tile; you can hardly tell them apart and there is no maintenance. It is moderately expensive but I think well worth it. I wish I could remember the name of it but you should be able to call your local flooring store and check floorings online. Good luck with your project. Hope I have helped!!

Valentine apartment hanging bedroom interior design

This project is called the Valentine Apartment. The French architect, Emmanuel Combarel Dominique Marrec (ECDM) has transformed the small apartment with the clear strategy: Decompartmentalise the place so as to fit out an open plan and elude the demand of an extra room by conceiving in the center of the volume a suspended white cube which generates comic and disconcerting use situations. How’s it come? Just give the simple information bellow it!

The first step that the architect does is plugging the bedroom under the apartment ceiling. The difference in height is shared the volume from a simple to a fake double height, 3.70 meters under the ceiling in the main room, which has been originally marqued by a awkward mezzanine under in which one can be able to up. To achieve that, the small doorway is managed into a separating wall which is existed between the 2 volumes. The main step in the construction is freed from all order. It because the matter work is on a 50 square meters area inside the apartment itself, in which the variety of the orientation, the volumes is makes possible unusual, uncommon living situation.
