I have found something online at overstock.com. When i was trying to research online about overstock.. i read all bad stuff.. can anyone help me where I can find something like this for good price online!! I live in arkansas.. I have searched all furniture stores for this.. never found something i wanted! Please help meeeee

I'll be moving in a few weeks into a small-ish condo, with 3 large windows on one side. The kitchen, dining area, and living area is one big room, about 20 x 20. I'll be buying some very dark leather furniture, and a dark colored dining-pub with chairs. Also, the hardwood is an auburn color, and the cabinets in the kitchen are sort of a medium-auburn color. Since this is all in one large room, what color should I choose??? I'm so HORRIBLE at this stuff!

A nice warm brown would be nice.

I'm part of a family that is 6ft tall plus so I love big furniture and tall chairs. I live in GA and have been very unsuccessful with shoping around for a Pub Table for my dining room to seat 6-8. Anyone? Help?

Okay, i moving into an apartment and i'm low on money.
My price range is:
dining set- 200 or lower
living room set- 500 or lower
bed set (platform and mattress)- 200 and lower

oh and for the dining room set, I want a 4 piece diing room set and the one i want is called a pub dining set and it has like a high table with like bar stool w/ backs on them. The dining room set i want to be a dark brown.

And for the living room i want a couch and a love seat in a tannish or borwnish color.

The bed set ( platform) i want in black.

I'm planning a grand cocktail reception for about 130 people. I'm having all appetizers plus a carving station for meat (fiance's request). Since it's meant to be a mingling party, all the food will be buffet style. I'm thinking of having table seating for roughly 80 people, and lots of lounge furniture and pub-style tables scattered throughout. What should be on the dining tables? I can do centerpieces, but I can't see having a charger, wine glasses, water glasses, etc. I just simply can't "picture" how some things will look, as I've never actually attended an hor d'oeuvres reception before. Can anyone help with advice? Thanks in advance!
It is an indoor covered pavilion with full-glass paneled walls which can be removed (depending on weather) to make it an open-air space. It was built in 2008 and is on a lake, it's sort of a fancy place, so don't get the wrong idea when I use the word "pavilion". It will be at night in the fall so I'm not sure if the glass will be up or down. There is also a huge fireplace inside.

When I read about cocktail receptions, I keep seeing that you don't have to provide seating for every single person. I would have 80 table seats and plenty of lounge areas (not just for us, for everyone!) plus the pub tables. There is also an outdoor deck with additional tables. I like the comment about having the water glasses (filled by catering staff) and agree that I don't need chargers.

We aren't doing a cocktail reception to save money (I think it's coming out more expensive anyways!) We are just fun, laid-back informal people but I still want "elegance".

Cocktail receptions are so much fun and great for mingling and just hanging out.

* No need for chargers and plates and glasses on the tables. Keep it simple and clean--have a small centerpiece at each table. A small vase with a few flowers or even a small bowl with floating candles should be fine. It's small enough to add decoration but not overpowering.
* Don't bother with filled water glasses at each table because it defeats the purpose of what you are trying to accomplish. You want guests to walk and mingle so it doesn't make sense to put out glasses at each table like that since many will not come back to the table.
* Be strategic about bar set up. With 80 people, you can get away with just having one bar service your event but talk to the caterer to ensure that everyone will get proper service in a reasonable amount of time.
* Make sure you have enough waitstaff to circulate and take away empty plates and glasses and if anyone needs any help.

This should be perfectly fine and turn out great. Don't sweat too much about the small stuff. We had a full on reception but did have a cocktail reception prior to dinner and the key to it all is keeping it simple and easy to allow guests to move around and mingle and talk.
