Outdoor Wood Dining Furniture

We need a new dining table and chairs for the garden. We can't afford teak but there appears to be a wide selection of products in either acacia wood or eucalyptus wood. Which of these two woods is the best choice and why? Of course if anyone knows a place to buy low cost teak furniture then please let us know. Thanks

I'm just a poor good ole boy, but if you can afford to buy any wood furniture for outside, especially a dining table and chairs, I'd say you could afford the teak.

Say I have a wooden dining table that I love but I hate having to use table pads and a table cloth just to have an informal meal because I don't want spills and condensation to ruin the finish on my table.

What I would like to know is: What is that clear, high-gloss, waterproof, scratch proof coating I see on restaurant tables and sometimes on stair railings or outdoor railings and other outdoor wood fixtures and furniture? Is is a special polyurethane or some kind of lacquer? If anyone knows what it is, do you know if it can be easily applied by a novice to any wood fixture or furniture?

What your referencing is a two part epoxy based system that's used on bar tops and tables to create that deep, clear, and ultra durable glass like coating. This what my furniture looks like... I have light tan microfiber couch and love seat with dark brown pillows and a red accent chair. My coffee table, end tables, entertainment center and dining room table (open floor plan) are all dark wood. I have a forest green accent rug under the coffee table and lots of grassy to dark green accents around. Even my wall painting is an outdoor foresty painting. I painted my walls a medium swampy green color (its a really nice color) But now I have far to much green in my house. What color do you suggest? I want my house to look more open and cheerful yet cozy and relaxing.
Since I have an open floor plan I plan on painting my oak colored kitchen cabinets white and putting new hardware on them. (mabye)

Why not find an art piece that incorporates the red into it so the chair (accent color) blends better? You didn't say what color window treatments are. Red and green do complement one another and the neutrals help soften the look.

You'd probably have to pick up some paint samples and try them out on the wall to see how it looks with the lighting you have---are you against neutrals? Would you like just one wall as an accent in color?
