Large Dining Room Furniture

About 320 sq.feet. french doors going into the family room you will see the fire place from the dining room, kitchen off to other side. My house is decorated rustic,which I dont want to change. The design ideas need to fit into a rustic,cabin like feel.
Ideas from colors,designs,wall hanging,lay-out furniture ect..
Because the room is large I could welcome a corner coffee nook or sitting area?

The room is 24x24 ft and i need to accomodate a home office, dining area, large sofa chairs and tv and a children's play area, which is why i'm going diagonal for more space. But I have 3 area rugs to arrange and am unsure whether to keep them in line with the walls or the furniture or what the rules are!!

I would arrange them diagonally with the furniture to better define the areas.

Our dining room is fairly spacious with old antique furniture but would the fridge look out of space. It's just that our kitchen is too small and we need a large fridge as there area lot of people in our family.
Our room is about 3.6 x 4.5 metres squared
Are fridges only for kitchens??

Yes it would look awful, fridges are only for kitchens or utility rooms

I have yet to take pictures of it I'm planning on doing that later tonight. The stuff is all at my Mom's house in her garage. Everything is in really good condition and it consists of a large dining room table (with leaf), a set of six matching chairs with ivory upholstry. A hutch and sideboard to match. It's in really great condition. On top of that I have a beige leather reclining sofa thats only 2 years old that I want to get rid of as well. I paid close to 3500 for the dining room set and 1000 for the couch. How much do you think I could sell these things on craigslist for now?

I think you should decide on something like 1/4, 1/3, 2/3, 1/2 of the price (whatever you feel is right) and stick with that. That way people realize that you are being fair with the price and will think "wow, I'm getting this in great condition for half the price!"

Dining room set:
1/4 = 875
1/3 = 1166
1/2 = 1750
2/3 = 2333

Sofa:
1/4 = 250
1/3 = 333
1/2 = 500
2/3 = 666

I think for the sofa somewhere between 333 and 500 would be fair, and for the dining room set somewhere between 1166 and 1750 sounds right. You might try putting the higher price and saying adding "or best offer" or "prices negotiable" so if you don't get a bite at that price you can work it down a little.

my living room and dining room are part of one larger room. i'm thinking light blue living room and darker but neutral green dining room. my furniture is black and my couches are light brown. is light blue a good color for living rooms? i very traditional in my decor.

Traditional can mean various things: colonial, country, Queen Anne, Regency, shabby chic, etc. Today, some 60s and 70s styles are coming back and are so considered somewhat traditional as well.

Unless you have a reason for having two different colors in two different areas of a room, don't. Instead, have an accent wall (three walls of a rather neutral color and the fourth wall a totally different color, like blue or green). Either that or install a chair rail (or, maybe better yet, a wallpaper border) in the middle of the wall and paint one half light blue and the other the dark green.

I agree with the individual who mentioned the lighting. Your lighting is an important consideration in what colors to use. With a lot of light - combined with a larger area - you can get away with some darker colors. Of course, with the darker furniture, you may prefer lighter colored walls.

Whatever you decide, just make sure your throws, pillows, area rugs, etc. coordinate with the color on the respective walls. Also, you could decide to get furniture covers, print or otherwise, to blend better. Same thing with black dining set: cheerful table cloth and chair covers.
