Japanese/Indian themed home?

Since we are moving to a new apartment, my boyfriend and I are looking to decorate in a bit less "this is my apartment, look at the bare white walls" style. However, we can't really agree on a design. He's into a very Japanese look, and already has several pieces including: a beautiful Japanese dining table and cushions, two Shoji screens, lots of paintings (not anime wall-scrolls, real and very beautiful paintings) and several paper lanterns. I, on the other hand, have very little by the way of furniture, but yards upon yards of lovely Asian brocades, velvets, and sheer organza in jewel-tones that I'd like to decorate with, Indian style cushions and throw pillows, and several Indian style sculptures.

My question is this: He has a very strong Japanese-cultural style, and I favor an Indian feeling. Cool jades and bamboo, with simplicity and the "less is more" ideal meeting warm and romantic, plush jewel-tones, rich brass, and almost burlesque Moulin Rouge/Elephant Room styles? How do I get all that to blend without looking like a hot mess? Any ideas are welcome. Pictures would also be lovely <3

(4) line up the decimals of the numbers then add from right-to-left

(5) correct

(6) correct

(7) $599.99 + (4 x $89.59) = $958.35

(8) correct

(9) correct

(10) 1: 0.9333 = 100: X
X = 100 x 0.9333
X = 93.33 JPY

(11) 1: 0.6991 = X: 200
0.6991X = 200
X = 200 / 0.6991
X = 286.0821 USD

(12) correct

(13) correct

(14) $110.95 x 0.1 = $11.095

(15) correct

(16) ($18.95 - $8.99) + ($7.99 - $7.50) = $10.45

(17) ($3.99 x 2) - $5.50 = $2.48

(18) ($2.48 x 3) + ($1.49 x 2) + ($0.58 x 4) = $12.74

(19) "Add the two bags together, multiply by .80, and then subtract $1.00" is my answer. It is similar to the third option except the subtraction of $0.50 (← Your teacher might have made a simple mistake here as the coupon is for $1.00).

So, none of the options seems to be correct. If I really had to choose one of the options, I would go for the fourth option (but I do not think that it is correct...).

(20) ($3.25 x 2) x 0.5 - $0.50 = $2.75

What would be a nice neutral color for green and blue paint?

I am picking out the colors for our new housem, and I am color challenged. I have always had bright white walls.
Here is the layout of the house... The front door is around the middle of the house. When you walk in, you walk into the family room. To your right is the hallway with the guest bathroom to the left and the second bedroom at the end of the hall. On the other side of the family room is the kitchen/dining room, another hall with the masterbath in the hall and then at the end of the hall the master bedroom.

I was wanting to paint at least one wall in the master bedroom a green color, since our theme is going to be jungle/safari. The master bath is going to be rubber duckies since I have all of the accessories. The accessories have green in them too, so I was wondering if another shade of green would look right in the bathroom.

For the family room and both hallways, I was looking at a taupe color, or a color called imperial sand which is a lighter taupe but not tan.

Forthe kitchen/dining room which is all one large room I was wanting to do apples, so the top hald of walls would be white and the bottom half would be a green, and the green would match the apple border I was going to use to seperate the green/white wall in the middle.

For the guest bathroom I was going to do a light blue which is a blue linen color, almost like the bridal shower blue and the second bedroom a more sky blue.

Would these color combinations go? The second bedroom is only going to have dog cages and then a computer desk, so it is not going to be an actual bedroom. ANY help woul dbe greatly appreciated. All suggestions welcome.

P.S. My family room is a Japanese theme, with oriental everything even our furniture. The mail colors of the decor (wall items) are black,gold and reds. Thanks!!

The flooring throughout the home is a light cherry hardwood.

White! It's used to split a contrast for cold colors (lube, green, purple, ecc). Or you can add a light yellow, light beige, etc; but always consider brightness, it helps increase light in the room.

I need help decorating my apartment. Any suggestions?

I have a 1BR apt facing South. Here's a little more about it... My theme is Asian/Feng Shui but I've also accepted Morocco into the scheme of things as I found two guardian dogs @ Pier 1. I'm buying the Dragon June Rug @ Pier 1 if that helps for the Living Rm.

DINING RM/KITCHEN:
Enter into the dining area. The apartment has been rehabbed. My tiles are marble-esque I guess. They're a really light gray/beige/white... To the right upon entry is a closet with sliding doors which I use as a coat closet/broom closet. To the right is my teeny kitchen. I call it a turn around kitchen. You walk in, turn around, and you're already out. There is a 6' row of cabinets w/ sink and the stove on the right and Fridge on the left. The kitchen is MAYBE 6-8' by 5'. I have an iron sconce on the dining room wall going into the kitchen. I also have an iron mirror on the wall straight ahead of entry into my apt.

LIVING ROOM:
If you go back to the front door, the living room is straight ahead but slightly to your left. The separation between the carpet & tile is on an angle. The carpet is light beige. My furniture is tan microfiber and all the dang tables are OAK. I'm tired of OAK. I have plans to sand down all the tables and paint them black this spring. I have a papsan, loveseat, sofa, tv & stand, DVD rack, 2 end tables & a coffee table. For decorating, I have bought a 3X4' mirror but it hasn't made it onto the wall just yet. I also have an imported Japanese vase (about 3' tall) that I fell in love with. I have a bamboo screen draped with 2 or 3 yards of teal silk imprinted with a Japanese print. There are sliding glass doors on the back wall of the living room that face South. I have a 5X8' balcony.

BEDROOM:
Upon coming in, go past the entry/broom/coat closet. There is another linen closet immediately to the right. just 2 or three more feet ahead is the end of the hall. There is another closet with 3 high shelves because it houses my teeny water heater. This is the game closet. To the right is the bathroom and the left is the bedroom.

Upon entering the bedroom, there are four closet doors (two closets with two mirrored sliding doors each). The window is straight ahead facing south. I have a queen sized bed, nightstand and armoir. There is also a 4' folding table which serves as my computer desk. I have no where else in the apartment to put it. I am going with a black & pink theme in the bedroom.

I know this is rather lengthy but I want to get some good suggestions. I am looking to PAINT accent walls in the Dining Room and Living Room.

Please HELP! :)

Moroccan colours tend to be the oranges and deep blues, perhaps an accent wall or two in both rooms? but matching if they're opening on to one another. The rest in cream (I'm not a fan of too much colour on walls). It'd need to be an earthy shade of either colour, not too orangey or blue - more of a burnt orange or a vibrant blue (but not turquoisey).

As for Feng Shui, is the mirror in the entry directly facing the door? It's recommended not to have it facing directly.

  • Converge Dining Table with Stove: Feeling Japanese Restaurant ...

    In this kitchen, so the cooking is finished, the dish is served directly, without having to move rooms. Fun, right?

    Fans of Japanese cuisine certainly is no stranger to the concept of dining table together with a stove, as in a restaurant that serves Okonomiyaki, for example. This cuisine cooked and served directly from the stove, which is in front of diners. This concept can be applied at home. How to create a kitchen like in this picture.

    Kitchens like this is relatively practical, because we can negate the dining room. In addition, the cooking up to dine can be done in the same place. No need to provide a plate or bowl for serving dishes, once finished cooking is served and eaten immediately.

    Table where the stove is actually placed peninsula, which added to the series of kitchen set. You also can make it on the kitchen island, lived his design for table top can be at once functioned as a dining table. Add a chair, then you are ready to dine with the concept of a Japanese restaurant. Good luck!
