High Quality Dining Room Furniture

I have bought a brand new dining room table and chairs, but the two end chairs with the armrests are about an inch and a half too high to slide underneath the table. I have seen a lot of different types of furniture lifts and caster, but they are either too big or poor quality. I need something that is about 1 1/2" in diameter and 1 1/2" high. It needs to be something that the table legs cannot slip off. Does anyone have any ideas?

A couple ideas. Add a piece of wood the same size and shape as the bottom of the leg to the bottom of the leg screwing it in place with a counter sunk screw. If the table legs skrew off add a piece of wood here, skrewed to the table top then attach the legs onto it. Good luck.
Find identical flat paper weights and slide them under the legs or somethig else flat solid and identical in shape and color. Have a marble or granite counter top company cut you some identical pieces from scrap to do the job.

I found 4 high quality fabric dining room chairs called "Parsan Chairs" at a garage sale cheap. They are normally sold for atleast $125 a chair. The only thing wrong with them is that they are white and I want to change the color to brown. It is so expensive to get the 4 chairs reupholstered. A co-worker said that I should spray paint them with a fabric paint. I got on line and did some research and it sounds like a good idea. The paint is not exactly cheap but it would be cheaper than reupholstering them. I just want to know if someone has actually done it and if it is a good way to go to change the color of furniture.

We have a small 2 bedroom house, Family room with connecting Dining room are our common (non bedroom) areas.

The family room already has to hold the children's play area, couch, loveseat, TV, bookcase, coffee table, 2 large matching end tables and baby swings.

The dining room is very nice and formal, but has spare room. The computer does not match at all, since the room is all high quality 1940's cherry wood (dining table, deacon's bench, secretary, credensa).

These are the only 2 spaces that are not bedrooms that can hold the computer. Our computer is being held on a white tile-topped table.

Since we have older style furniture in our rooms, where is the proper place to put a computer? We don't have money to run out and buy something fancy (or even unfancy!) to hide it.

Should the computer go in the family room with the TV and so much else going on, or the formal but hardly used dining room with lots of space?

What is considered the "proper" solution?
Seems like the original home style was to have a family room and a dining room, but neither of these were ever designed to hold computers as part of the decor and useability.

Problem is
1. Most retailers have already filed their showrooms and warehouses with well known living room furniture from other companies.
2 Selling in high end furniture stores :--> channel conflict with other retailers.
3. Though motivate salesperson to buy our furnitures, the salesperson might recommend the brands of living room furniture that they have worked with in the past.

- Advertising + Pull : try to motivate customers to know that our product is differentiate from other brands.
- allowance might motivate salesperson

Two points to note:

1) Madison by entering the living room furniture section will obviously have to displace an existing brand or two as they target this market segment, this is going to cost them some of their profit margin. They may have to offer a better wholesale/retail discount on their furniture line than the other manufacturers are giving to persuade the retail managers to make room for their furniture.

2) They will have also have to offer incentives to the design sales people and give regular promotions to consumers to make them aware of and ask for the Madison brand, this is not helped by the Madison brand being highly associated with the Early American style for which they have an established reputation, and which is currently complimenting the other brand designs in the stores. Assuming Madison are sticking with their Early American designs in their living room range of furniture the question has to be will consumers be persuaded that they will want that much of one style in their homes?
