Does anyone know of any furniture stores that carry funky dining room tables?

I have looked everywhere for a dining table that will fit six people. I want a frosted glass top and a contemporary funky kind of look. I have looked at 100's of tables and can't find what I'm looking for. I don't want to spend more than $1,000 for the table if possible. Help please.

I have purchased from immod and they have very nice furniture. Also Eurway is the best as far as prices and quality. I have bought quite a few things there and I have been happy with them. Eurway is Austin based and I believe they pretty much ship anywhere. They also carry a lot of the modern classics at affordable prices. I will post the link . Hope this helps

Long, wide living room... how to decorate? furniture?

We just bought a great 1950s bungalow with 1500sq ft.
The issue is- the living room (when you walk in the front door, there is a low wall to your right, which seperates the entry from the living room, and is where the TV cables are in the wall)... it is about 22' long, 12' wide. If you put the couch against the wall, you're literally about 22' from the spot where the TV cables come into the house. WAY too far. We have a large overstuffed couch, love seat, 2 leather club chairs, matching retro style coffee table and side tables, a 40" lcd tv and stand. We had a small home, and everything fit very nicely, and seemed really cozy and family friendly. Now, we have double the space, but still the same amount of furniture. We bought all our furniture new in the past 2 years, so replacing it really isn't an option.
The living room also opens up onto the dining room (a big L shape, the small part being the dining room, so we really can't put a dining room in the big space of the living room to fill it up. I don't want to have a big empty spot in the middle of the room, between the TV and couch. And, I want to be able to entertain without people feeling stranded in an empty, non functional room. This room has me baffled. We move in June 1st and i'm almost having nightmares about how to go about furnishing the room, setting it up. My plan is just to stick the furniture in there and rearrange it till I'm satisfied.
Also, on the wall seperating the kitchen and living room (which SOMEDAY we want to cut a pass-thru into) I am planning on stenciling a large tree onto the wall, and hanging family photos on the tre...a family tree... and was thinking of putting the 2 club chairs against that wall with a stack of antique trunks in between them, as a table. That's the first wall you see when you come into the house.

I was thinking about putting the couch in the middle of the room, but then it would be in the way of the nice window seat that's there. I would love to be able to fit a home office in there somewhere. Move the couch from the wall, put a funky desk behind it, which would move the couch away from the wall and closer to the tv???

Colous will be green, grey, brown, very nature toned and calming. The room gets a TON of light. I want to make the room seem SMALLER, not larger.

Any tips?

Just put you TV on the short wall where it goes, then decide how close or far you want to be from it. Put your love seat width wise there. Put your couch lengthwise at the end of love seat with the front edges (corners) only touching each other. Place an end table in the corner (L) the two couches create.

What is your identity?

What is your identity?
Ok, bare with me. Its a strange question but i would love to hear your answers.
What piece of furniture do you identify wih and why?
Like a special chair, or a funky lamp shade etc.
For example i identify with my glass dining table because im into minimilistic, clear and clean look...thats also how i dress.

I identify best with items that have been passed down to me through the family, 'cos they have memories and connections with people who are no longer with us. Like my grandmother's dinner service.

Need some ideas for my interior design final?

For my final I have to choose furniture for every room of the house (4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, dining room, living room basement, laundry room etc.), create an invention for something in my house, tell how my house is eco friendly, make a floor plan and make an elevation drawing of one room.
1. How could I make my house "green" other than recycling or solar panels. Everyone else is doing that.
2. Could you post a picture of your favorite piece of furniture you can find online. I have a lot of it picked out, but I am looking for some funky, fun out of the norm things. Think Ikea style.
3. Any ideas for my invention? All my ideas have sucked like a light that blows out bubbles haha(:

3. A bed that you can change the temperature on. So if you're sleeping and you get really hot, you can make your bed cooler or vice versa. Haha, i'm not very good at coming up with ideas!

Help decorating my new rectangular living room - Want it to be comfy?

I just rented a house and took measurements of the living room which is shaped a bit funky. I could really use some help with decorating it - I want it to feel comfortable more than anything. Here is the shape of the room (try to picture it - draw it if necessary).

The entire room is 23 x 12 feet. The room is sectioned off a bit like this - if you walk in the front door and look at the left corner of the room I'll describe from left to right:

(left) 2ft 10in wall / archway to dining 6ft / 14ft wall no windows (right corner of room). This adds up to the 23ft.

The wall opposite (parallel) this wall is: Now you're standing at the dining room entrance looking at wall with the front door: (right corner) 4ft 2in wall / front door regular size (3.5ft?) /15 ft 2in wall with panel windows (left corner).

If you're back at the front door and look to the right wall it looks like this: 12ft but sectioned - 3.5ft panel window / 5ft fireplace / 3.5ft panel window.

The wall opposite (looking to left from front door) is also 12ft total sectioned this way: 3.5ft panel window / 5ft wall / 3.5 panel window.

I have an armoire from Ikea that I will to use to hide the TV. It's a little over 4ft tall and 3.7ftwide (25ft deep).

The couches I have are pretty standard - a 3 seater and a 2 seater. The dining table will be in the seperate dining room so no need to fit that into the living room.

I feel like everything is so spread out and there's no real way to make it cozy but if you have any ideas please let me know! If you'd like me to send you a sketch of the measurements I took so you can picture it better please let me know!

I know that I'll need to buy some extra pieces of furniture (coffee table, arm chair and such). I would like to stay at a reasonable budget though so please keep that in mind with your suggestions!

Thanks! gladmachain@yahoo.com
If you could give specifics that would be great. As far as location of the furniture and stuff. And maybe what I could fit in the extra space by the door (opposite the fireplace wall).

It's just my fiance and I living there and we'll probably spend a lot of time in there watching TV or just hanging out. When we entertain we'll have no more than 10 people if that.

I think I want a straight shot from the front door across the room into the dining room.

If its shaped funky, I suggest making it a little retro. Go to real anique stores that sell furniture, and buy a retro coffee table and some funky couches.
Antique stores are nice, because everything's UNIQUE!!
