Expensive Dining Room Furniture

hi, I want to sell my dining room chairs, they're very expensive (about 500 each) and I have 10.
Do you know where I can sell them???

Check the yellow pages in your area for furniture consignment stores. There's one in San Diego that I have gone to for various items over the years. The sellers deliver the furniture to the store, which is just a big warehouse, or pay to have it picked up. The store owners then display the furniture on the showroom floor with price tags on it. When someone buys the furniture, the store then gets a percentage of the sales price as a commission.

Of course, you can't expect to get the full value of the items selling them as used, regardless of the condition. Especially in this economic climate. But, the consignment store people can help you come up with a reasonable price.

I'm trying to create a 1910 era dining room for a school play. I need everything from a decent paint colour to what the furniture would look like, please, don't suggest anything that runs TOO expensive, and thanks a ton!

It depends on where you live, but check your state's historical society or registry website. Every state has historic homes that are open to the public.

I know why cats scratch furniture in general. But seriously, why is it the most expensive piece? We have had a nice leather couch for a while. The cat tore it up, leaving everything else alone. So we bought another used leather couch. It is not fake leather, but real. It is just old, and not valuable. At the same time, we bought a new dining room table with brand new leather covered chairs. The cat ignores the "new" couch, and has taken to scratching the chairs. The old couch was very old, so I don't think the cat was attracted to it because it thought it was brand new. This just does not make sense. In the past, any cat I have had only targets expensive, valuable furniture. To add one more factor to this, it could be a piece of furniture we use extensively, or it could be something we rarely use. The only common factor I have with this, is it is the expensive, valuable stuff.

First of all if you have cats, shouldn't buy leather in the first place. Trimming their claws and buying a lot of scratch posts should help.

When I moved, I bought a new couch and there is not a scratch on it. That'll be almost a year now. My cats have plenty of cat trees and scratch posts and their claws are trimmed about every couple of months.

I am particularly looking to buy a dining room set - just wondering about the quality of their furniture. The set I am looking at is almost as expensive as furniture in a regular store - I am just concerned about the durability and quality.

Target furniture seems nice to look at, but if you are concerned about quality and durability.....take your time......maybe by items from thrift shops.....they usually have very good quality items....that just need a little care......

Also, the deal with furniture that comes in a box, is to make sure it is put together properly.....

I'm part of a family that is 6ft tall plus so I love big furniture and tall chairs. I live in GA and have been very unsuccessful with shoping around for a Pub Table for my dining room to seat 6-8. Anyone? Help?
