Ercol furniture restoration?

I have acquired some 1960's Ercol dining chairs which need restoration to their finish. Basically wood is sound but the finish has worn and needs bringing back to its original condition. Can anyone advise how it should be done and the finish that should be re-applied?

Why not try e-mailing their Customer Services Department... if you send them a really nice e-mail "bigging-up" the quality of their fantastic 40 year old furniture, they might send you some restoration information (or even some samples, believe me, I've had some real results from writing to people). Worth a try.

where can i sell my ercol furniture?

i have a dining table and 4chairs, 1 chair leg is broken, it needs restoration to table top and broken chair. want to sell it, dont know much about it, apart from ercol is a good name and dont just want to put it in the tip.


Try e-bay,or a car boot or yard sale. Ercol furniture was first made in High Wycombe,Buckinghamshire,England.They were the largest employers in the town in the early 60`s.
