Please provide table layout suggestions as well as table arrangements in a dining hall. I would like to know how many courses to serve and when and what each course should consist of. I would like to know the type of furniture, china, flatware, glassware and table coverings to use. Please provide as much helpful and positive suggestions as possible.

my partner and i have, or should i say HAD lovely very dark brown high gloss furniture. ie - dining table, hall stand and coffee tables. they are not very old but because they are so high gloss they scratch so easily and they are getting worse. they are solid wood but have a thick laminate over the top and like i said are high gloss. does anyone have any ideas on changing there colour etc?? im not sure if you could sand or paint them?? with the laminate and gloss??

There is a saying that if it doesn't move you can paint it. Sand lightly to rough up the surface. Paint with a GOOD high adhesive primer, and paint with the color of your choice. The better quality paint you use, the longer it will last.

My only piece of furniture in the room is a cream couch. I tried some taupe type colours & they look awful. The room has 3 sky lights & three skinny windows. It is a living/dining room. The front entrance hall is narrow . The kitchen which is at the end of the hall is yellow & terra cotta colours The paint will be in the entrance, up a staircase, down a hall, & living & dining room. Any suggestions for colours.

Try a nice muted blue. That would look very nice.

[Q9] wat kind of seating would you prefer for both spaces;high/low, formal/informal [q8] ur name? age? place? occupation? number of members in the family? .............RESEARCH BEING DONE FOR DEVELOPING FURNITURE FOR URBAN HOMES

a) we entertain in the living room only, so we have a very minimalistic decor with furniture of modern contemporary...nothing like an ensemble..each piece is unique. (divans, chaise lounge, low glass coffe table)

b) in the dining room we eat "formally"...there is only a 12 person marble table and 12 chairs. It was not a set. We mixed it. Chairs are wheeled, high back and clothed with skirting. All furniture was designed from 1930-1960......
