I am thinking of getting this, but want to get some opinions on it. I really like it. It is part of my living room set. I have chocolate brown leather furniture with the claw arms and lots of carvings. The end tables and coffee tables are also carved well with marble tops. The two rooms are separate and the dining room is the one of the first things you see when you walk into our home. The walls in the living room and hallway is golden brown (a goldish color). Not quite mustard but it has a marigold tone. The walls in the kitchen are a dark red. Kind of an accent wall to the living room. What color would I paint the walls in my foyer and formal dining areas (that would match with this furniture)?

Since you have some seriously rich and warm colors and stylings, I'd say carry that on through the foyer and dining room. Go with a rich caramel (links are for oranger and browner caramel pics). It'll still be a relatively neutral setting for the foyer for people first entering, but will go really well with that marigold/mustard and dark red, as well as the furnishings. A milk chocolate could also go, but might make the wood seem dingy, as it already has yellow-brown undertones; a warm color to enhance the warmer tones in the wood/fabric would be best. As long as the room is a good enough size and/or lighting is sufficient, the room should look rich and well-coordinated within itself and in relation to the other rooms. If the room is smaller/dimmer, change out the curtains/light fixture for something with more light and/or go with the same hue, but a lighter tone.

I have just starting looking at this furniture, and I love the concept that it's solid wood instead of either cheap wood stained dark, or worse--veneers. I think veneer is okay to look at, but it's not very durable.
The assumption when they call it Amish Furniture, that's made by some technology-malcontents who made this solid 1800 and 1900 century style furniture. Their logos are often their buggies and people plowing, then once you get into the sites there is either no prices or somewhat very expensive furniture, anywhere from $500 for an intable, to $2000 for a dining room table. After going though many sites and showrooms I am also seeing a lot of contemporary designs.
I kind of get the feeling that some of this furniture is getting passed off as being made by the Amish, but what are the hallmarks of Amish Furniture? Do they burn in or mark their furniture in specific ways? Are there any websites that dedicate on what is real, and what is not?

I work at furniture shop where we sell Amish furniture . They do use power tools, like tablesaws and routers. There's no single way to distinguish amish furniture, because they are just amish guys who employ other amish people to work in their shops making furniture, and some of them even use phones. You aren't buying furniture made by somebody using only a hammer and a saw.
BTW I haven't noticed any markings of brand, and to my knowledge there is no market for counterfeit amish furniture.

2 Selling in high end furniture stores :--> channel conflict with other retailers.
3. Though motivate salesperson to buy our furnitures, the salesperson might recommend the brands of living room furniture that they have worked with in the past.

Two points to note:
1) Madison by entering the living room furniture section will obviously have to displace an existing brand or two as they target this market segment, this is going to cost them some of their profit margin. They may have to offer a better wholesale/retail discount on their furniture line than the other manufacturers are giving to persuade the retail managers to make room for their furniture.
2) They will have also have to offer incentives to the design sales people and give regular promotions to consumers to make them aware of and ask for the Madison brand, this is not helped by the Madison brand being highly associated with the Early American style for which they have an established reputation, and which is currently complimenting the other brand designs in the stores. Assuming Madison are sticking with their Early American designs in their living room range of furniture the question has to be will consumers be persuaded that they will want that much of one style in their homes?
I would like to buy a new kitchen/dining room table.
I have two toddlers and hopefully will have another on the way soon, so it needs to seat at least 6. I want a table that is not tall (the kids fall ) and has no upholstrery (the kids spill), and does not have lots of cracks or glass to clean. A nice wood table would be good.
I can spend up to 1200 bucks. I would like it to last at least 6 years. Hopefully longer.
I have tried looking at several stores: JCPenneys (the tables were wobbley in the showroom)
The stool and dinette factory (the guy said they would break fast)
Ashley Furniture (they cant tell me what it is made of)
The roomstore (didnt see much that matched my description)
Lots of little stores around mesa and tempe az.
Any ideas of a good place to look for furniture?
If you aren't opposed to used consider your local craigslist or ebay. Also look in your local classifieds for estate or moving sales as well as auctions. I prefer traditional style furniture and I can easily find things needed to coordinate with some of my older pieces at a fraction of the cost not to mention the construction and quality exceed todays goods.
