Designer Dining Room Furniture

I want to arrange furniture and decorations in a nice, classy and flattering way (e.g. make the room look spacious and welcoming) without hiring an interior designer. It would help if I could see a well arranged room (online, preferably).

Im looking at using an Interior Designer to look at giving an overhaul to some rooms in my home (Dining Room, Lounge, TV room and kitchen) but would like to know what is a standard rate charged for this service? Is this normally charged per hour or room and if so how long would a job take. I want a redesign, new wall-coverings, layout, furniture etc. How much should i expect to be charged? I live in the UK, North West

It is usually $100 to $120 US for a visit. It works though and really you save money in the long run because you get the colours of paint that will really work in your space. They advise you on whatever you ask. You can walk them through your house and get ideas of furniture placement, paint, accessories etc. Write a lot of it down so you don't forget. Also if you find pictures of ideas you like then have them handy to show the Designer so that they get an idea of the kind of environment you want to live in. They are usually at your house for a couple of hours. You will be very happy you hired them. Ask friends or at Home Shows for referrals. Also design schools can advise you where to find a competent one. Good luck.

I need help with my story. I need some1 to give me ideas or write this part of the story for me. Here is the story and it is the part in bold letters. I need u to help me plan the b - day party for Amanda. And PLEASE take the time to read and enjoy the story. :)

“Aman-da time for school” her mother called up to her daughter’s room. Amanda groaned and pulled back her covers. She walked sleepily over to her closet and pulled out a gray tank top, a dark purple blouse, her favorite pair of designer jeans, and her pair of white flats. She got dressed and then looked in the full length mirror and smiled. Thinking about her first day of 8th grade, she went into the bathroom brushed her teeth, put on her makeup, and quickly brushed her long, thick golden brown hair. She reached over to where her makeup was and grabbed a hair band and tied into a ponytail on the top of her head. Her natural blonde highlights made her hair 10 times prettier than if she just would have had golden brown hair. She walked back into her big room and smiled. It had dark pink walls, a white couch with a White Mac T.V matching her Mac laptop in front of the window, in front of it, and her favorite touch of the room her bright pink floor carpet that she got for her 14 birthday last year and her furniture. She thought of how she got her gorgeous furniture. She fell in love with her furniture 2 years ago when she was 13. She went with her mom to their local furniture store to help her mom find new dining room furniture when they walked past the teen bed-room section. She showed her mom and she told her she HAD to get. After a while her mom gave in and she’s had the furniture ever since. She snapped out of remembering that day and walked over to her desk grabbed her designer purse with her name embroidered on the front with light green letters going perfectly with the pink purse, along with her identical tote bag. She went out of her room and closed the door. Ten minutes later her best friend Amy got out of her Baby Blue punch buggy closed the door and walked up to Amanda’s front door and rang the door bell. Amanda sprinted down the hall towards the front door. She opened the door to see Amy in her Maroon velvet choli half top with a gray tank, white jeans, and a pair of maroon heels. Her long chestnut hair was in a braid, It went about 6 inches past her shoulders. Amanda hugged her friend and told her to come in. They sat down at the beautiful brown wooded table, and began to eat their pancakes. Amy always came over to Amanda’s house on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays to have breakfast with her because her mom has to work in the mornings and Amy would burn everything she tries to cook. Also everyday of the school week they decided that instead of riding the bus Amy would pick up Amanda everyday and also take her home. Amy just got her lenience this summer. Amanda won’t get hers until October, which is in less than two months. Her mom promised to take her to get her lenience the day before her birthday, and then on her birthday take her and Amy to pick out a car for Amanda. Amanda’s mom said Amanda could get whatever car she wanted! 30 minutes later, Amanda and Amy grabbed their tote bags and purses. Amy’s purse was light blue with her name embroidered in dark purple letters; her tote bag matched it as well. Amanda and Amy and there 2 other friends got them matching and customized at a store in the mall this summer when they went on a shopping spree for back to school clothes. Amy and Amanda told Amanda’s mom bye and walked down the sidewalk to the driveway and into Amy’s light blue punch buggy. Amy tuned on the radio while Amanda grabbed her Samsung Gravity Cell out of her purse. It was white with a blue rim and blue circle around the arrows and the “ok” button. She opened it and started texting the 1 of the 2 other girls that Amy and Amanda were friends with and also picked up and dropped off in the mornings and afternoons. She started a new txt message typed a “b” for Britney and below the address box “Britney” came up she selected it and typed:

10 min. from ur house meet us @ the end of ur driveway

Then she pressed send and slid they keyboard closed. 2 minutes later she received a txt she looked at the screen and it said “Britney”. She slid the keyboard open and read:

Ok, c u soon, sista, lol

Amanda slid her phone closed right as “boys like girls” came on the radio. Whenever that came on the radio Amy and Amanda (and if the other girls were in the car) sang it at the top of their lungs. They always wound up laughing after. When they arrived at Britney’s house she was just coming out of the front door. Britney had black leggings on and a long gray top that came 5 inches down from her hips. Britney had hair medium length. It cam 4 inches past her shoulders. It was in 2 braids over her shoulders in purple hair ties. She ran through the yard with her lavender purse with gray letters spelling her name just like Amy’s and Amanda

How did you ask such a long question? I think my keyboard must be broken because it locks up after about 43 characters. I called the Dell help desk and talked to a real nice man in India. His name was Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman and apparently is very smart having won the Nobel Prize in physics. He said he could not help me because I am using a Radio Shack computer.

Small house with kitchen, family room/dining room pretty much all one room. No place for dining room table. Can't afford designer. Where can I get some ideas? I watch HGTV and Style channel....doesn't help. Lived here for 6yrs. and I'm still stuck.

I wish you lived by me, I'd love to help you! If you have a college nearby with a design program, see if a student will help you. Often design students will do things like this for free if they can use you as a reference and add this project to their portfolio. You can put an ad in their school newspaper or post fliers around campus (just get permission to do this first) asking for help with your space plan.

Since you can't fit a dining room table, have you thought about a bistro set (small table with 2 chairs), or using a love seat instead of a huge sofa. Start by moving all the stuff out of the rooms and put in the major pieces first - couch, TV, then add things until the room is full. If you have stuff leftover, maybe it can go in storage or you can donate it to a charity. Also, if you need a place to eat, there are these really cool coffee tables where the top lifts up to dining table height. They are a little more expensive than a regular coffee table but they do double duty!

I just moved here and need a dining room and living room set. I'd also like a little tea table too. Where are some good places to shop? I'd like to mix an Asian style with a slightly modern one. I have a decent budget to work with as long as the items are high quality.

Are there any good interior designers in Singapore that can help me?
