Contemporary Dining Room Furniture

My Husband and I are moving into our first home together and need suggestions as to where to buy some decent contemporary furniture...i.e. dining room set, couches, cocktail table, etc. We'll even buy on line if need be. We live in milwaukee but are willing to drive a bit if it good stuff. We just really want a cool dining and living room. Any thoughts?

Ikea in Schaumburg might be a good place to start. It's only an hour away, but you'll need a truck to get everything home!! It's still cheaper than paying shipping costs!

i want to put lights like in th picture in the link above my table but you have to go through the dining room to get to the living room so the table needs to be off center. can i still put lights over the table and have it not look bad?

Yes you can. It is not uncommon.

Call an electrician or a general contractor to get some free estimates (you should get at least 2 or 3 estimates before you make your decision)

They can locate the beams and circuits thats suitable for the installation and help you achieve the look like in the link from your question.

they are both really nice and it depends on what you are looking for if you would like a darker sorta chocolate color to go in a room number 2 would be your best choice but if you want something smooth and creamy i would go with number 1 personally if i was designing a room i think i would go with the chairs from the Gabriella dinning room collection and a table the color of Nikka but round like the Gabriella table.

I have looked everywhere for a dining table that will fit six people. I want a frosted glass top and a contemporary funky kind of look. I have looked at 100's of tables and can't find what I'm looking for. I don't want to spend more than $1,000 for the table if possible. Help please.

I have purchased from immod and they have very nice furniture. Also Eurway is the best as far as prices and quality. I have bought quite a few things there and I have been happy with them. Eurway is Austin based and I believe they pretty much ship anywhere. They also carry a lot of the modern classics at affordable prices. I will post the link . Hope this helps
