Cherry Wood Dining Furniture

Im buying new drapes for the dining room which has all cherry wood furniture such as cabinets and a dining table and chairs. All of the walls are white except for one wall is a light tan color to contrast, it was a living room before the dining room but doesnt look bad, the drapes are old and i was wondering what color drapes would look best? if anyone has ideas or pictures please let me know! thanks!

Any color you like would go well. I would go with a print.

What color dining room furniture should i decorate with cherry brazilian scraped wood floors?
I dont know whether to match floors with dining room or do contrast with different color. I dont want to clash either. Heres link to photo of floors and current dining room table.

You should hire an interior decorator - it looks like your trying to create a certain style! Who ever you ask during this purchase period will try to sell you the most expensive stuff rather than explain the ideals of fashion - which you are obviously worried about!

I have been using pledge spray polish on my cherry dining room furniture and there is a smeary film on the table top.How do I get rid of it and what do I use to restore the lustre?

the polish did not absorb into the wood, strip it with a mild cleaner such as 409, check at the hardware for a stain sealer, clear stain or a restore stain, then you will not have to polish.

I recently purchased a home w/ these floors all throughout the first floor. I am trying to determine what type of furniture would look best, and what types of colors match well. In particular, our dining room set and bookcases.

a nice off white leather couch would look nice with that floor. just think of your hardwood floor like jeans or the color white. itll match pretty much everything. you can always get a magazine on hardwoodfloors or just something like elle decor that shows interior design photos with hardwood floors and then you can get a mind set of what you like with your new floors . think of a theme first and then match it all together . an asian theme would look nice . and is very popular .. you can purchase a white or red sofa set and get matching pillows with the cherry blossom prints on them ... pictures of chinese or japanese characters with very nice handpainted nature pictures sets a mood .. lighting is important... all im saying is its up to you use ur imagination and do the research online and magazines are a lot of help. hope you have fun and accomplish something to be proud of.

More specifically:
~It's a cherry wood, dining room table that seats six.
~The water stains are three or four round stains the size of shot glasses. So the 'water' stain is actually whiskey.

So i need a quick/good fix for small stains on a large piece of furniture.

Step1
Dry the wood if it's a fresh water stain. Wipe off all the water with an absorbent towel and place a paper towel over the water stain for a few hours to absorb extra moisture from the wood. This trick works only if the water stain is caught immediately.

Step2
Open your pantry and dig out that mayonnaise. Spoon a generous amount onto the water stain and rub it in with a paper towel. Allow the mayonnaise to remain on the stain for several hours or overnight. In the morning, wipe off the excess mayonnaise. Use a paper towel and rub the remaining mayonnaise into the wood. The water stain will be gone. Add ashes to the mayonnaise when applying it to the water stain. It increases the mayo's effectiveness.

Step3
Use a combination of non-gel white toothpaste with baking soda in equal amounts on highly finished wood. Make a paste and apply the mixture on a clean white cloth. Apply in a circular motion to the water stain to gently buff out the stain. Wipe the mixture off the wood and apply furniture polish. This method should only be used on highly finished wood.

Step4
Place a lint free cloth on the water stain; think linen dish towel. Carefully put a hot iron on top of the cloth for a few seconds only and remove. Repeat until the water stain is removed from the wood.
