No matter what you do make sure it is tempered glass, which is more expensive but I have seen on TV how dangerous glass tables are unless they are tempered.

I just bought new furniture and was wondering what color to use for the walls. This is the couch:

By the way,this is just one long room to be divided into a dining area and a living area, so the color has to go with both...

Pale gold would be great, or caramel.

We have a brand new, Ashley Urbandale drop-leaf dining room table. This evening, we managed to get a few drops of Vectra 3D (topical flea treatment for dogs) on the surface. Apparently, the flea treatment is oil-based and the drops, once wiped up, left small depressions and "dullness" in the oil finish. What is the best way to repair these spots without having to strip/resurface the entire section of the table? (I did send an e-mail to Ashley Furniture requesting information on what kind of oil they use - tung, linseed, etc.)

There is a product used to make minor repairs to furniture that involves crayon like sticks of various colors for touching up. Sold a home centers. May work.

I would start with just putting on some oil first though although I doubt that the only finish you have is oil because it offers so little protection.

I would like to buy a new kitchen/dining room table.
I have two toddlers and hopefully will have another on the way soon, so it needs to seat at least 6. I want a table that is not tall (the kids fall ) and has no upholstrery (the kids spill), and does not have lots of cracks or glass to clean. A nice wood table would be good.

I can spend up to 1200 bucks. I would like it to last at least 6 years. Hopefully longer.

I have tried looking at several stores: JCPenneys (the tables were wobbley in the showroom)
The stool and dinette factory (the guy said they would break fast)
Ashley Furniture (they cant tell me what it is made of)
The roomstore (didnt see much that matched my description)
Lots of little stores around mesa and tempe az.

Any ideas of a good place to look for furniture?

If you aren't opposed to used consider your local craigslist or ebay. Also look in your local classifieds for estate or moving sales as well as auctions. I prefer traditional style furniture and I can easily find things needed to coordinate with some of my older pieces at a fraction of the cost not to mention the construction and quality exceed todays goods.
