Teak Bedroom Furniture

we wondered if the paint that is used in spraying cars would be suitable, if so then i could ask a paint sprayer to do it for me, i want to achieve a really smooth finish with no runs, so that it looks new.

Teak is a wonderful wood and a beautiful rich colour. I would say that the furniture would of originally been french polished and not paint at all. If it were me I would seek the opinion of a furniture restorer. My grandfather was a french polisher and I still have a piece that he did. The finish is far superior to any paint, sprayed or not. Car paints are cellulose and acrylic, both of which could cause staining of the wood.

I've recently purchased a whole lot of teak furniture and one chest drawers and bed are placed in my room.

I was reading some mags and just chilling out on my bed, stepped out to get some food and just as i was walking back in saw a long wiggling dark brown worm about 6 inches long and it was moving in a zig zag like motion.

My biggest fear ever are worms and naturally i screamed!! My dad came in and smacked it dead.

I know i might be overreacting but i can't sleep on my bed. Called the furniture company and they should be getting people in to inspect but i'm still freaked out.

Has anyone had a similar experience? I've tried googling worms in teak but doesn't help. My first thought was that it definitely came from my bed since it was right beside it and i don't have much trees outside my window (the window is rarely open) it's not from plants too since we haven't got any near my room and i don't think worms can travel that much a distance with all that wiggling without anyone at home noticing. On top of that, the worm's dark brown, the exact same colour as my teak.

Well, it might not be from my bed but from the other furniture at home but i'd like to know if there's anything that could be done to prevent worms. aside from insecticide etc or to weed those worms out if there are more!!!!!

Everything is brand new, which is even more puzzling.

Guess the last resort is pest control.

I mean if someone were not that afraid of worms, it actually wouldn't be that big a deal but i'm terrified of them. Not of cockroaches or spiders but worms.

If you have a refurbished mattress your probably sleeping on someone old piss mattress that was recovered. There has been lawsuits with though types of mattress.

i dont know what color curtains to put becuase i dont want it to llook kidish. i want it to look nice and not childish. what would be a good color or kind of curtain? i looked at linen n thing, bed bath and macys and jcpenny but i couldnt find anything that would go. where would be another place where i can look for nice curtains?

For a finished polished look dark chocolate brown curtains that compliment your furniture are usually easy to find and you can add a lime green stripe at the bottom. (Even if you can't sew- there are seam tapes etc. that you can get from your local craft store.)
