Oak Master Bedroom Furniture

We are thinking about painting 3 walls a creamy off-white color and would like an accent wall. Our carpet is beige and we have mint green bedding with chocolate brown accents. Our furniture is a medium oak color. What colors would you recommend for the accent wall? I was thinking a light blue shade, but I do not have much experience decorating.

You can go with brown or chocolate color, what ever goes well with your furniture.

i bought a house and don't know what to do with the master bedroom. The walls are burnt orange and the floor is oak wood. Our furniture is black and i don't want it to look like halloween!! im open to painting it, i just don't know what direction to take it. This is a new begining in my life and i want a fresh start and something new and exciting in the bedroom.. any ideas would be great!!

Go with a light grey or beige if you don't want to overdo the color on the walls. You can jazz it up with vivid color by choosing accessories such as a bedspread or comforter cover, pillows. Choose black or pewter metal framed pictures with your taste in color; you could go with black and white or color splashed pictures or paintings The window covering I wouldn't overdo, maybe solid colored blinds that blend in with the decor. If the oak floors are in good shape no need to cover them with carpet, maybe just a nice rug or two at the entrance or side of the bed. Go with a modern lamp or two to set off the look.
If you want color on the walls, the rust and deep reds are really sharp looking if the bedroom isn't too small.

My husband likes blues and I like browns. Our options would be a shade of blue walls and a shade of brown comforter on the bed or a shade of brown walls and a shade of blue comforter on the bed. The furniture in the room is all oak and is all antique and we have a beige carpet that will go with anything. Also, what color would you paint the bathroom?

Well you have great ideas for your master bedroom, i would definatly go with the blue walls and brown comforter, it will go great with your antique furniture. as for the bathroom i personally love bottem half a variety of brown/greyish tiles and then a tan or brown or beige color on the upper half. good luck, and have fun re-decorating

I have a guest bedroom that has a black cast iron double bed frame, white double wardrobe (Ikea Hemnes), white bedside tables matching the wardrobe, cream walls and cream curtains. I have just moved house and therefore cannot afford to buy new furniture and I want to keep the cream walls so advice required on what else I can do to put some colour into the room...

What colour bedding and accessories does anyone recommend? I don't want a bland room but don't want something too personal as it is the guest room so could have a whole mixture of ages staying i.e. parents, or mates! I can afford to buy brand new bedding, throws, cushions, bedside lamps and accessories. The master bedroom is crisp white bedding, cream walls, oak furniture which splashes of deep red so don't want the guest room to be the same.

Ideas/links gratefully appreciated as I am stuck for ideas!

Ok, here's the situation. I am going to redecorate my master Bedroom & Bathroom. The rooms are open to one another, but Small. My bedroom carpet is a rose mauve color as well as my bath. I have a Heart Shaped Tub, which is also a mauve marble color. And my vanity and cabinets and trim are all dark oak. The bathroom has carpet also, which were going to change to a rock looking linoleum, and we are putting rock or fake rock around the bottom of the tub also. I have a lot of Mirrors im my bathroom as well. I was thinking of painting the bathroom and bedroom like an off white almost vanilla color, to open it up some. My bedroom furniture is BIG /Bulky, and it is a Dark Cherry color. My husband and I are wanting to spice it up a little, but were not sure what to do. I thought some Burgundy and Gold would look good, but Im not sure. We are wanting a theme to our room, but what exotic theme goes with mauve??? I thought a Geisha look, but he didn't like that. And we both want something different, not girlie or manly but just something neutral. Could you guys give us some ideas... Something that goes with mauve, but isn't too girlie or too manly Please HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPP

Keep everything in the bathroom white offwhite and then try a wallpaper with a pattern that has a touch of mauve.
As for the bedroom, you can treat the carpet as a neutral color by dressing the bed in white linen curtains like a four poster bed, then dress the bed lavishly in white and gold and some beautiful damasks. Add lamps that are exotic and sexy to you and dimmers in both rooms. Add plants, uplights and Art with some candleabras. Keep accessories a little larger to match your furniture, but minimal. I hope you love it! Sounds like a nice bedroom suite.
