I want to paint over some laminate bedroom furniture to make it all match, and I was wondering if anyone has ever done this?
Sand it, kilz it, then paint it whatever color you want. Put more than one coat of kilz on it.

I have a couple of pieces of laminate bedroom furniture (satin black). I would like to retouch up some of the areas if possible. Has anyone had any luck in painting laminate? Thank you!
Hi, yes it can. I even painted my laminate kitchen counter top, 10 years ago and it is still going strong. You need to use a primer for glass and ceramic tile. The one I used was called first step. Then use a good quality cabinet or vanity paint to paint it with. If you want to spray paint, you may try the new spray paint for plastic. I have never used these, but they may work.

I have a bedroom set that is 40 years old and completely outdated. I'd like to revive it by sanding the exterior, apply primer and a coat of paint. But I'm worried that the paint will crack and peel.
Any suggestions?
I've done it by deglossing the laminate with paseo or lightly sanding, using Bin (smoother than Kilz) and then giving it two coats of latex and sealing it. I wasn't happy either with the brush strokes nor the roller because both didn't leave a nice, smooth finish. But, the easiest way I've ever done laminates, is spray painting and sealing with spray polyurethane. I used a spray on primer, spray paint and a non-yellowing polyurethane and it is looking like the day I did it without cracking or peeling.
I have recently painted my room a tan/beige colour (was going to go with green, but my folks shut that down), and I'm getting walnut laminate floors (the golden select from Costco). What colour should I go for for furniture? I was thinking white, any other ideas? The bedroom is in the basement, with only a small window for natural light.
I would definitely go with white, cream, or beige ( at the darkest). If you are in the basement and there is not much natural light, going darker probably isn't a good idea. I think that a lighter color would match better and make the room brighter.
