Italian Bedroom Furniture

Omigod!!!! My husband paid a hoot for our black lacquer Italian bedroom furniture. I left my nail polish on my nightstand and it was closed tight. It leaked, don't know how because I checked it. I wiped off the polish off my night stand but it smeared. the spot is maybe 2"x 3 1/2". I don't want to use nail polish remover because I'm sure it will also take away the sheen. HELP!!!!

Well if the color is still on the top, and there is just a smear on the surface, you can try to wet sand the top with 800 to 1000 grit wet/dry sandpaper, then get some buffing compound that is used to buff out automobile paint and rub out the top. (You'll get a heck of a workout doing this by hand if you don't have a power buffer) You can get both the sandpaper and the compound at any store that sells auto paints, check your local phone directory...(and whatever you do, do NOT use nail polish remover because it WILL take the sheen AND paint off the top!!)

My husband is Italian and for our wedding gift his parents bought us this huge bedroom set, well we have had it several years and the home we are moving into will not hold this big furniture. I want to sell it and buy more updated smaller things, he says it is bad luck and an Italian tradition to keep this first marriage set. Is this true, or some line of crap he's trying to pull not to upset Mommy?

I'm Italian too, and I never heard about such a tradition. Probably your hubby is just making this up because he doesn't want his parents to feel offended when they'll come to visit you in your new home and won't see the furniture they bought for you two...

I'm moving and I want my new room to have this total old Italian influence; I want to walk in and feel like I'm in Italy. Crazy I know. Anyways, I was looking at furniture and stuff when I realized that I don't even know what bedrooms in Italy look like. So I need some help. How are bedrooms designed in old Italy, not modern Italy. If you know of any good websites where I can get a good deal on a bedroom set too that would be great. Please help in anyway you can. Thanks! :)

Do a mural (I'm doing a ceiling mural right now) of various things, just scattered them about: Greek Key (Versace's trademark symbol) Pisa the tower, Colosseum, Roman numbers, some famous columns that are cracked, scrolls, even a map of Italy, and the word Tuscany somewhere in the middle, and paint them like they're tearing up, and make them look so old that they're falling apart. Make the room faux stain using sponge like 2-3 colors, but don't buy paint in dark colors, just barely there colors. I made a mistake by buying red and yellow paint for Asian theme, but the colors were too dark. Print them, enlarged, then decoupage them to your wall.

I have a shirt just like that it's got Italian version on it. I have another shirt that has France version on it.

Depends where you are in New Jersey, but If you go to route 1 & 9 there are a row of furniture stores, and you can get some great bargains there. I send plenty of my clients over that way! Hope that helps!
