Designer Bedroom Furniture

Although I am an Interior Designer, I have my speed bumps, no problems until I am ready to do my own house. I am doing my bedroom in a 50's era look. The walls are a sage green, and I have painted the open beams a vintage blue. My bedding is the 50's Waverly look. What I want to do is keep it all looking like it is the 50's. So the problem is, my furniture needs a 50's face lift. I have thought about crackle and also a procedure with spackling that makes it look old then you paint it. But what color??? HELP!!!!

if you are looking for the 50's feel...and you have painted walls and beams..why not go for that blonde wood stain that was popular back then?? it would really make the walls "pop"!

The place is in need of so much work.
Such as;
New doors. Tile for the kitchen and bathroom. Granite counter tops. Stainless Steel appliances. Finished wood flooring and I also want to turn my over-sized bedroom into a living room, and my tiny living room into a bedroom. Not to mention the fact that I have no furniture. Can an interior designer come in and take care of all of those things for me on a limited budget of under $7,000?

UMMM... Love that color! Its bright fun and you wont get sick of it... theres just no way, its too pretty. Also - this might sound weird but I found an iron mannequin at an antique store, no head, just the body, I wrapped pearls around the neck area and its really rustic and fun looking (anitque store - so im not sure if you can find the same one but there are tons that are similar)... I mean its really vintage looking, so start there. I've been to Paris and its beautiful. You need to get some pics of Parisian Cafes, the Eiffel Tower, Arc d'Tromph, the Louvre, maybe a fun Mona Lisa Pic (Get photo paper - find some images through an image search on Google - Just in case you want to switch the theme up one day you wont feel bad on spending tons of $$$ on pictures - I did this with pics and they look amazing ---tip : Let them dry completely before framing) - - FRAMES: Black and white pics and frames looks great with that wall color!

Does anyone know the designer/brand of the night table in Serena's bedroom on the first few seasons of Gossip Girl? I saw it once at HD Buttercup (in Los Angeles) in that exact piece as well as a couple of other different furniture pieces but they were all broken or had too many missing pieces. It's very ornate, almost like it would be something styled after Louis XIV.

Hello: I just purchased a nice views one bedroom apartment in Manhattan, near Washington Sq Park. I am looking for nice furniture places (not necessarily very expensive). Is there any places in New York city that sell ?designer furniture. Modern chic is my theme. Any places in New Jersey maybe?

I would imagine the newspaper ads would be a good place to start.
