Dark Wood Bedroom Furniture

I am having Cream on the wall and dark wood furniture, but need help on Carpet and Duvet, curtains etc colours?

I do like Purple or Orange, but then what colour carpet? Rather not have cream as have a three year old and one on the way??

Help???

Also would rather not red, as living room is red and creamx
I would love a feature wall, but have a odd shape room and no wall would look good as a feature wall..

I have dark wood furniture in my room.
I have a white ceiling with two walls in an olive green colour and the other two walls in a 'lime stone' colour. And a wooden floor.
I think it looks good.

My boyfriend and I bought a house and he has cherry wood bedroom furniture (2 dressers and 1 nightstand). I want to paint the walls a lighter color to reflect the light, and to offset the dark wood. Suggestions?

Moving into an apartment next week, white walls, white blinds, beige carpet, oak colored cabinets. Should I pick light or dark wood furniture? Dark wood fits my personality better (traditional) but I don't think I would like all dark wood through out the apartment. What are the pro's and con's of each type of wood. Also, can I mix and match? light in the bedroom, dark in the living room / dining area or vice versa.

No decorating sense whatsoever would welcome any/all opinions.

i buy whatever i like. however keep in mind that dark furniture will make a room feel more crowded so if you have small rooms maybe consider a medium or light tone. but with all the white walls etc...you probably will be ok with dark anyway.

I have a pretty average sized bedroom with light purple walls, kind of a lavender, and my room feels crowded because I have a lot of dark brown wood furniture. I'm a teen girl and my parents won't let me get rid of anything so I stuck my nightstand in the closet...still crowded though. I love to listen to music and play piano, but I don't know where to get posters or how to fix this room. I was thinking about sticking music notes on my wall but I don't think this will fix it. I also like celestial and some gothic things (not scary/ bloody or whatever comes to mind) just my room is a mess and boring and crowded. Any ideas?

Save up some money and try going to
Walmart or the JC Penny Home Store
where you can buy numerous things
that match what you're searching for
in order to get the kind of room you want.

What color bedding would look good? Also, I am trying to find a photo online to copy and decorate my room. any sugg?

i would say white or a light brown or orange...u don't want to mix too many colors since you already have very strong furniture and wall colors. :D I hope u find something cute!!! BTW it totally helps to go to Bed Bath and Beyond to check out the set-ups they have. it helps a lot when planning!
