We are redecorating our bedroom which includes re trim of our formica furniture. The king size platform bedroom set can not be replaced for less than $4,000 as it was custom made over 20 years ago. It is still beautiful except for the trimming.

I have searched for silver trim and can not find it. It would be on a roll, self adhesive and silver in color. The company that made the furniture is no longer in business.

I have tried Home Depot, Lowes and several internet searches.

If anyone knows where I can find this and the correct term for it please help me.

Im 15 and im in the process of redoing my room with a tiffany and co theme: so far i have all white furniture, 3 walls are painted robin egg blue and one is painted a light brown. im getting custom made lace curtains. (plus i have crown molding on the top and bottom of my walls) I'm wondering what other things i can get to really make my room pop. thank you <33

To be more helpful, you should post pictures of your room! Like of the walls, your furniture, etc. But I think that sounds gorgeous. You might try to find a white vanity (if you don't have one) that looks vintage because vintage would totally work in that style room.

I think that wall decals are really pretty sometimes and they can add a pop on the walls without have something mounted or nailed in. You could try finding some white vinyl decals that look like chandeliers.

Hey everyone

What are the prices of furniture in Egypt? Like average? Because I've seen bedrooms that are 9,000 LE and I've seen some that are 30,000 LE. So what is the average price for something reasonable, not too cheap, and not too extravagant?

Also, is it cheaper to have things custom made for you (like in Dumyat for example) or is it cheaper to buy ready-made? Even if your design is something really simple?
and plz nobody say "it depends". Obviously it depends, but I'm talking about the average. :)

I'm moving back home for a while to help out my family and I'm going to be redecorating my bedroom. For years the color scheme has been burgundy red with hints of deep purple and tarnished gold, lots of silky fabrics and velvet and antique looking furniture -- almost a victorian feel. While I love that style, I'm ready for a change. The biggest issues are that it is a basement bedroom, which means I have only 1 very small window near the ceiling behind my bed, and the bed was custom made by my dad, who is a carpenter, (shameless plug for their business here: www.meyerbrothersandsons.com), is affixed to the floor (as per my stupid request some years ago), so I can't really rearrange the furniture very easily. The nice thing about it, is that the drawers are built into the side which means I have no need for a dresser, which opens up a lot of space. The bed is made of ash, which is a light wood, so I would like a color scheme that compliments that. I like the urban look, but I don't really know if I can pull it off with the style of the bed. The room is fairly large, so dark colors are OK in it, but I'd like something lighter. Any suggestions?
i forgot about the floor -- thanks for mentioning it! it's just a neutral beige carpet. I wish it was hardwood, but at least beige is easy to work with. and i do have a headboard, but it's a book case. but your other ideas are stellar!

It isn't so much the color of the wood as it is the true style of the bed that may inhibit the look you are going for but is workable.
It sounds as if the bed makes for great use of space in the fact that a dresser isn't needed.
This will allow you a space to create a nice sitting area in which to read or just relax.
Target has some adorable chairs that definitely fall under the urban look. They are armless and offer a couple different choices of fabrics. Check out their online site.
Since this is a basement bedroom I would consider lighter colors for the walls and incorporate the darker colors in the fabrics.
If the bed has a headboard you can make it fit in by adding a mixture of woods to include those in the tone of the bed as well as some espresso pieces.
Over sized bedding can also cover the wood on the sides of the bed.
The window can be made to look larger by hanging the hardware close to the ceiling as well as beyond the casing or framing of the window. A great illusion for a basement bedroom.
You didn't mention the flooring. What color is it? An area rug is an inexpensive fix for those undesirable floors.
