I see that this has been asked before, but I've found conflicting reports regarding what type of misdemeanor this is. Some say it's a Class B, some say it's a Class A. Well, only TABC's website says its a class A, everywhere else seems to say Class B.

Does anyone know for sure? To clarify, this would be in a hypothetical case that I threw a party, where minors were present, the police came, and decided to give me a furnishing to minors ticket.

That offense is a Class A misdemeanor. From the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code:

Sec. 106.06. PURCHASE OF ALCOHOL FOR A MINOR; FURNISH¬ING ALCOHOL TO A MINOR. (a) Except as provided in Subsection (b) of this section, a person commits an offense if he purchases an alcoholic beverage for or gives or with criminal negligence makes available an alcoholic beverage to a minor.
(b)A person may purchase an alcoholic beverage for or give an alcoholic beverage to a minor if he is the minor's adult parent, guardian, or spouse, or an adult in whose custody the minor has been committed by a court, and he is visibly present when the minor possesses or consumes the alcoholic beverage.
(c)An offense under this section is a Class A misdemeanor.

I do not mean the cabinets sometimes attached to the wall at about head height, but the furnishing below which usually has in-built cabinets, and on top of which you put ingredients, cuttings boards, plates etc. basically a table except built into the wall and floor.

I can not remember ever hearing a proper word to describe that part of the kitchen, so it would be nice if someone could give me one.

It's typically just called the countertop and cabinets.

Does anyone know what the min/max punishment is for a first offense of furnishing alcohol to minors in Oregon? I haven't went to court yet, and I don't know if it's better to throw myself on the mercy of the court or get a lawyer and try to fight it. I don't want to make things worse for myself, but I'd like to know what kind of consequences I'm looking at either way. Any info, suggestions or personal experience appreciated.

So, obviously I'm in a tight spot. A few days ago, the police stopped by our house and 8 kids got diversions/citations for underage drinking. All underage. I found out today that my mom is being charged with furnishing alcohol to minors (Even though she didn't know anything about the party), and I'm being charged with enabling. What are the maximum punishments we can face for these in the state of Vt?

This is serious stuff. I cannot imagine how you thought this was O.K.

"A violation of this law subjects the offender to up to two years in prison, a fine of $500 to $2,000, or both If, however, the minor is involved in a motor vehicle accident that causes death or serious bodily injury to the minor or to another person, the offender is subject to up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $10,000, or both."

I'm moving to Texas in a few months, and my fiancee and I will be renting a house. Neither one of us has very much furniture or stuff. I need some good ideas for decorating and furnishing the place without spending thousands and thousands of $$. I had a friend who would go to flea markets and refurb the stuff she found, but any ideas if I can't find any flea market gems?

Why dont you join up with free cycle. You dont pay for any thing on there, alot of people just dont need their stuff anymore, so put it on this site. Just a thought.
